Re: Cat Tracking Devices

The safe zone is only on the GPS model and costs a bit more, it also requires an active sim card. When I did some research a while ago it seemed that most pay-as-you go sims these days are actually on monthly contract not pay-as-you go at all  . GiffGaff still seem to do genuine old skool pay-a...

Re: Most ridiculous new cat food product to date?

We got some of that soup free with a box of Gourmet. It was rank, even the cats agreed ;)

B&M own brand is under £3 a box and is 100g pouches not 85g. It's the only food our fussy little eater will eat now. Happy days. :D

Re: Cat Tracking Devices

We use Tabcat on one of our little nomads, uses radio or Bluetooth or something. Says it's 100yd range but in reality it's only 100 with a clear line of sight, once you stick trees and buildings in the way it can come down as low as 20 - 30 yards. Not much use if you have no idea where their hang ou...

The Ikea bag game, one cat goes the inside and one on the outside. The outside one taps the bag with a paw and the inside one pounces with all his/her might. Hours of fun for two cats and the bags seem to handle the battering quite well.

Yes we could and did think of that but we have always been interested in how far he wanders anyway as we suspect he could be one of those cats that go for miles without us knowing :o Just figured it would be fun to see how far and where he goes, wherever it is they don't seem to be upsetting him and...

Cat tracker advise

One of our two cats has started disappearing every day either early hours or after breakfast then bowls back in at around 9pm and settles down for the night, over the last week we haven't seen him once during the day. We know he goes next door sometimes as the cats have some sort of cat swap arrange...

Re: Kitty scales

If you have a Wii and Wii fit you can set up profiles for pets and it keeps a graph of their weight, you just step on the board without them and then again holding them. Not the most accurate weigh in but the graph shows clearly if the weight is fluctuating. It's is pretty useful for tracking their ...

Re: Cat flap setting 'Entry only'

Always set ours on one way form about 9pm until they are both in then we lock it. They seem to just know as they don't even try and get out until the morning. My only concern about one way is that next doors cat sometimes gets trapped in all night, luckily they all get on fine and he doesn't get str...

lol, yes the tree picture is more like their normal routine of mischief and destruction. It wasn't even decorated when they had 2 branches down.

OT I know, but I have to ask ................. MarrowFarmer with a cat called Pumpkin - please explain yourself :? Oh boy it seemed so normal at the time. When we had our last cat I had this genius idea of writing kids stories about a pair of cats and for some reason I decided they should be called...

Re: Re Foxes !!!!!

I used to worry about foxes and our cat as we had a few round our way so I did a little research and to my surprise it's very unusual for a fox to even try and take a cat. Everything on the interweb would seem to suggest that the cat would need to be very old and immobile or very injured combined wi...

Water games

Anyone else have issues with cats and water? Never had a cat that does anything other than drink from the bowl now we have one that dips a paw in any unattended glasses and one that drops a toy in the water, pushes it around until it reaches maximum capacity of water retention and then strategically...

It's horrible, one of ours managed to slip out twice, both times being rescued by the postman  Ours have been using the cat flap for 2 weeks now, you just have to trust them. The funny thing is they were so keen on escaping but now they have the freedom of the neighbourhood they dash out for 1...

Little boys growing up

We took two little boys from a local shelter back in August, they came from separate litters but have bonded better than we could ever have hoped. Pickle was found covered in flees hiding in a storm drain and Pumpkin was found under a shed with his sisters (their mother having died after giving birt...

Re: Letting cat out for 1st time

Great advise on here. Thanks all. We have had a pair of adorable little fellas from the local rescue shelter move in with us this time last week and they have settled in so quickly, they now have full run of the house and the only step we are left to take is when to let them outside. I think 4 weeks...
