Re: Boris

I had Boris put to sleep this morning. He went back to the vet and they did another ultrasound and found his chest had filled up with fluid again. They said it wasn't kind to put him through draining it again and that given it had filled back up within a few days of the last attempt, it wasn't a goo...

Re: Boris

Hi guys Boris's rally was a flash in the pan. He stopped eating 3 days ago and I can't get him to eat anything despite trying everything I can to tempt him. He's very lethargic and disappearing in front of me. Every now and then, though, he perks up and seems a bit brighter. I just can't decide whet...

Re: update on Boris

Thanks to all you lovely people with your fingers crossed. So far so fantastic! They'd given him a long acting steroid injection before discharging him. He came home on Tuesday morning - he was very sleepy and breathing still not great. Didn't eat anything and God does he look pathetic with fur shav...

Re: Possible tumour

Thanks for all your thoughtful replies. Boris had his chest drained yesterday but within a couple of hours, it filled up again. However, they gave him a diuretic and he responded to that, but they said he would need to stay in the vets overnight and that I should brace myself for him dying during th...

Possible tumour

Hi guys My cat Boris who is 19 and who has kidney and thyroid disease, became very unwell over the weekend and was not able to breathe very well. I took him to the vet this morning and they did an ultrasound. There is no problem with his heard but his lungs were full of fluid and there is a suspicio...

Re: Persistent Vomiting...Support & Advice needed!

Hi Vic Sorry to hear about all the stress. I rehomed an elderly cat 3 years ago (she's now coming up 18) and she had a terrible vomiting problem when she first moved in - hate to sound shallow but she ruined every carpet in the house. My vet gave her an anti-inflammatory when she was particularly ba...

Re: Rant about RSPCA

Just got this reply from the RSPCA centre manager: I am glad to hear that Boris is home safe but am sorry to hear about the the advice given to his finder. We, as you would imagine, receive many enquiries every day from members of the public that have found cats that they believe are stray or abando...

Re: Rant about RSPCA

Thanks all - alanc - I think that he must have followed me when I went out on saturday. Unusually, he was sat a few doors down and I said to my oh - don't engage him in eye contact or look back at him, I don't want him to follow us. But - given where he was found and where we were walking, I think h...

Re: Rant about RSPCA

This is the email I've sent to the RSPCA local center - they had better reply Hello On Saturday evening, my elderly (17 year old) cat went missing. On sunday morning, I set about trying to find him by contacting yourselves (I was referred to the web-site); cat's shelter; combing the streets near my ...

Re: Rant about RSPCA

Thanks for all your lovely messages and Lileth - that makes me so angry! What a disgrace. My boy is acting as if nothing has happened and is standing at the now locked cat flap with his hands on his hips and shouting at me! I followed the instructions on the rspca website to make a complaint where i...

Rant about RSPCA

My 17 year old Russian Blue cat went missing on saturday night - totally out of character. When he wasn't in when I got up on Sunday, I was devastated, fearing the worst, trawling the streets, talking to neighbours. Did everything suggested on this forum's lost cat advice. Anyway, I'd rung the local...
