Re: Fluffy needs an operation!

Hi Shelly. That must have been so distressing to watch. Poor little girl. It seems quite a common reaction then to the anaesthetic. Must remember that for future. Now I have another problem with Fluff. She has had a bit of a poo which I was relieved about because she is prone to constipation. But sh...

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!

Hi Julie. Yes I think she is beginning to perk up a bit. She's more keen on food but only the chicken still. I hadn't thought about kitten milk. Give Barney cuddle from me xx

I'm so terribly sorry about your little girl.

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!

Thanks so much for all your replies. They have really helped. I'd be lost without you. It did cross my mind that her throat might be a bit sore so I'm relieved to see that some of you think the same. It would fit with all her symptoms of gulping and sounding hoarse when she's purring. So maybe it's ...

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!

I agree Julia. I will take her back otherwise I'll be worried and if anything were to happen I'd feel so guilty. Have a feeling he will charge for the appointment but I know he's not after more money. It makes sense that after an op he would want to check she is healing ok. He wanted initially to se...

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!

Hi Julie :) Yes I think you're right about taking her back. Whenever I've tried in the past to open her mouth she just clenches her teeth together so I've no chance. Best opportunity is when she's mid yawn but even then I have to be ultra quick!! Poor Barney. I'd be just as upset in your situation w...

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!

Thanks Sarah and Helen for your well wishes. It's interesting to get your views on whether I should take her back. Sorry for being a bit of an air head today but I did forget to mention in my post that it is practically impossible to check Fluffy's mouth. Quite an important fact but my brain isn't f...

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!

Thanks Helen. Gentle fuss given. Well the little girl is home. She's had a tiny bit of chicken. Hand fed of course. The vet said he was pleased with how well she did considering her high blood pressure. She's had a couple of dissolvable stitches put in over where the crown was taken out. Once this s...

Thanks Anna. Yes I'm so relieved. Can't wait to get her home. About to set off shortly. They are little fighters aren't they our old girls. I hope Lily continues to improve. Give her fusses from me xx Ah thanks Mark. I certainly would be delighted if it did give her a new lease of life. I had half e...

Thanks so much for all your well wishes and kind thoughts xxxx I will be passing on your hugs and fusses to her once she's home safe. Re: Fluffy needs an operation!

I've just heard from the vet. Fluffy has made it through the operation. Huge relief!!! So the worst bit is hopefully over. She's had two extractions and is now on a drip in recovery. I'm collecting her at 4.20 this afternoon. Just want her home so I can look after her. She's normally pretty hard wor...

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!

Thanks so much Sarah and Julie xx Just got back now from dropping little girl off. She's going to be looked after by a very kind nurse which is a relief. Met her and had a chat about my concerns. Fluffy will be closely monitored. I feel confident that she is in good hands. If only she knew how many ...

Dear Shelly, all I can do is smile at your lovely Dora's behaviour. I can confidently say she wouldn't be running like this and hop skipping and jumping everywhere if she was in any pain. Problem is, can you keep up with her? :) I particularly think it's a good sign with her stretching up higher tha...

You're not over protective at all Jan. I would be exactly the same. I'm glad that Eric is laid back about it all. If only Georgie would learn from him. Maybe he will one day. That's it, dose yourself up too with the RR. The night time one is particularly useful at bedtime. I always use it. Hope you ...

Your Eric has just made me laugh again :D The little lady in question would answer but she is snoring (don't tell Eric) in one of her many beds. Oh Jan. That's such a shame. Just as Georgie is improving too. I would feel just as panicky and anxious as you do right now. You have to think which is the better of the two scenarios for tomorrow. You have to go to work so therefore would you feel better knowing that Eric and George had access to t...

Re: 2nd urinary blockage in 2 months, help please :(

Hi Lin, I'm pleased that Ernie seems to be doing better. I've been following his progress but haven't had any useful advice to offer although my little girl Fluffy is prone to cystitis. I know it is a lot more serious with boys. I have found though that adding water to her wet food has helped. Hi Li...

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!

Thanks Jan and Sarah :) She is just so sweet and has no idea what is waiting for her on the 29th. She's in full swing with her "talking" to me at the moment. Every time I so much as look at her she talks to me. What a repertoire she has nowadays. I'm glad you think it's the right thing to ...
