Re: Lost Tabby Cat - Enfield, London
Just found Coco on Missing Pets UK - it's not my part of Enfield, and I haven't seen him - he's a very distinctive lad. It's kitten season now and he's probably been beguiled by females as he's not neutered. How sad for you and Coco. I hope you found him.

Re: Lost Tabby Cat - Enfield, London
Do you have any pictures of your cat, and where in Enfield did he disappear from? Where was the white- is he patched or mainly tabby? I can keep a look out for him.

Neutered male - 2 months on - still aggressive with other cats
So I'm a serial cat rescuer since 2012 when a kitten was born at the bottom of our garden. Now I have 8. The latest, Charlie, 'arrived' in our garden, an unneutered male covered in battle scars, in April. By May we had him neutered and moved him into our bonding room. He's been there since 6th May. ...

UPDATE ** The probiotics have done wonders - alongside little and often - and Charlie is looking much better and all his deposits are normal. It's taken a couple of weeks, mind. Here he is on a little outing, looking for some food. I hope you can see the video: https://www.facebook.com/worldaccordin...

UPDATE ON CHARLIE Well a week since his "Op" and Charlie is such a lovely lad. As you'll see from the pictures his face is healing up nicely and the wound on the back of his ear can't been really seen now. His poor little nose has been really beaten up though  Charlie's biggest challe...

Oooh yes, he's really like Frosty! What gorgeous semi-ferals you have, Janey! Little Charlie is looking better already tonight after being indoors for 24 hours, despite his op. He's looking brighter, his eyes are wider and his scratches are healing up. No more fighting for my little man, I hope. he ...

Well, he wasn't chipped... but he will be. I'm going to keep him on trial - but my trials can last a long time... Charlie is no more than 4 years old but has been well beaten up in his time. He's otherwise in good shape, but doesn't know how to use a litter box. He's a gentle, loving lad - not...

Bobby is chatty too - and he's black, coincidentally. Sophie meows when she wants things, but for Bobby it's just 'talking' and it's a 'yip, yip, yip-yippy yip-yip' type of talk, looking directly at you, He will come up to the patio doors and when I open it, tells me something - then goes off again....

Ah.. I think it must be the time of the year to have new kids on the block! I hope you can sort out the conundrum of your lovely black visitor. Our big male, Socksie, is terrified of the newcomer having had a run in with him on his way home at night, and won't go outside!! Bobby is the brave one, fr...

Some of you will remember me posting intermittently and last announcing the decision to adopt the unneutered black Tom who had turned up in our garden. He i now my beloved Bobby Bob, who is a scatty little chunky monkey who is addicted to treats and trying to catch flies. I kept him in for 10 months...

We put scraps of Felix AGAIL on the bird table for the birds. Saves binning unused food and they love it - Magpies, Starlings and Pigeons in our case... We had a really scruffy skinny Magpie frequenting the garden who waited for his AGAIL every day. He's now looking much healthier and has a mate :-)

Re: Ultima dry cat food
Yes - we get it from Zooplus in bulk. We have both. The cats get wet food twice a day and biscuits if they are hungry, The two boys generally like the biscuit best and one favours the hairball - which is good as he's very long haired and can have problems with 'transit' - this does seem to help. We ...

Re: neutering ?? help please!
I don't have much experience in this area, but I had a similar thing happen before I got my first cat. I was feeding a stray cat who emerged with a single kitten at one point (I hadn't realised she was pregnant - knew nothing about cats). The local Toms then came after her again and they were fighti...

Re: Abandoned cat i think !!
Well done for looking after this cat! Have you checked on www.animalsearchuk.co.uk - both for pets lost in your area and to post a picture and description of the girl? They work with Cat's Protection and do a good job of reuniting pets. If you cannot find a home, I'd let your boyfriend take her home...

Re: Rehomed cat very stressed and unhappy
I really have to agree with the others here. This poor little lad has had a totally confusing time and was let outside far too soon and had too many changes in his environment. It has left him skittish and frightened and yes, if allowed to stay outside he would probably turn quite feral - he doesn't...

Re: Creating Positive Interactions
Good suggestion, Kay - and definitely the clothes change and hand wash! Just another thought - although he's young yet the boy will need neutering and the girl spaying, of course. Cats can start reproducing very young. The boy will start to smell like a 'Tom' and your older neutered girl will HATE i...

Re: Creating Positive Interactions
Hello there - this is a very strange situation. If they are already eating together fine, it would seem your girl is not actively scared of them or aggressive towards the kittens. Normally if a cat really takes against newcomers they will make that perfectly plain in the proximity of the newcomer/s ...

So glad you're looking out for this little lad, Smither. We took in a stray Tom middle of March and had him neutered - and wonderfully all his scars have healed up. They can't help the fighting when they're unneutered and I expect your neighbours would say 'he's just a cat' and suggest he's only doi...

Great news about the progress! It sounds like Mia got her toes caught at the vet or in the carrier and she may need to have that looked at. You're doing the right thing taking things slowly and carefully - every good day will make the next good day more likely! Sounds like you've turned a corner. If...

How interesting! I have three tuxedo blacks - one has definitely a chocolate tinge to her fur and a gorgeous ginger-brown strip across her shoulders which you can see when she sits in the sunlight. Then there are the two all-blacks - the girl is jet black all over, but even for her when she's in the...

Re: What's Causing The Stomach Upsets?!
Hope your little ones are feeling better soon and the pooh obsession can wane ;-) I'm sure your older girl will settle down eventually, especially is she's already peaceable with them. I think it can take quite a while before cats fully adjust to newcomers - at least 6 weeks and even then they're no...

Dear Vanessa, I'm no expert, but two things - Buffy's change of behaviour with the other cats (which is intermittent to some extent) and the fact that she's tending to stay in one safe spot as if she's separating herself - make me wonder whether she could be ill and in pain? Have you taken her to a ...

Re: vaginal discharge from my female cat
Vet ASAP and if she responds well to antibiotics I would book her in to be spayed (I'm thinking she isn't) as this could be a very unpleasant infection for your girl and these things are much less likely if females are spayed.
As others have said, hope she's okay.

Dear Scastillos, I'm afraid I have no experience of any of this but I so feel for you about your lovely boy. I'm afraid I'm at a bit of a loss if the vet has drawn a blank. I wonder how old she is, if you've had her for 8 years and she was stray before that. I have heard of cats yowling when they're going deaf. I wonder whether he checked her hearing?

Oh just look at that gorgeous contented boy! He too was living rough and being fed outdoors by us before we caught him on the 13th Mar...

Re: cat has been very mean, hissing and scratching for the past week and a half?
I'm going to say nicely what I think some people will say in an even more straight-forward way - that you should never be letting an unspayed female in heat outside! This poor girl has probably already been subject to the attentions of any wandering unneutered Tom (who should also have been fixed). ...
