Bless you for caring for this beautiful ginger boy. Check out the rescues for your area listed on Catchat, there may be one or two you have missed. Please put him on the waiting list of all local rescues. It will likely be months before a place comes up but you still have time before it gets too col...

Thanks Jacks

Cats now safe with me. I will be taking them up to Argyll in a couple of weeks. Lady paid for them to be vaccinated and the kitten to be neutered. One tabby (2 years old called Fluffy), a pastel tortie (7 years old called Polly) and all black fluffy kitten called Spike (sooooo cute)

URGENT: COVENTRY - 2 CATS & KITTEN AT RISK OF PTS

Are there any rescues who can provide back up to save 2 female cats (7yrs & 2yrs) both speyed, and one 8 month old male kitten (not neutered). None vaccinated or chipped. Woman in Coventry has signed contract on rented appartment which does not allow pets. They are currently in her old house but...

Re: Cat in cage advice please

Sorry you are going through this, it is very upsetting and worrying. One of mine was in rta two months ago - franctured pelvis and severe bruising to abdomen. He was in dog crate for 6 weeks and on metalam. It is hard to see their pleading eyes and sorrowful mew but it is for their own good. I used ...

Also, date they have to be moved by, how long they are likely to be needing fostered for, are you in a position to contribute towards food/litter/vet bills. Are you looking to rehome them or definitely want them back when you are settled.

Re: Help needed Urgently

Sorry to hear of your situation. Perhaps it might help if you could give a bit more specific information about the cats: neutered/chipped/vaccinated. male/female. Ages. Good with other cats/dogs/children. It all might help persuade someone to help.

Correct. FIV cannot be transmitted cross species - including rabbits.

Re: worried - Denzel scratched by FIV positive Stray "Terry"

I echo what HRH Fluffy has said. I have a number of FIV+ and FIV- cats living together. Re sharing food bowls. As a very fragile virus it only survives out of the body for a few seconds. Therefore, the chances of the virus spreading this way, or by mutual grooming, is very remote. What people often ...

Re: worried - Denzel scratched by FIV positive Stray "Terry"

Please do not panic. As others have said FIV is very difficult to transmit and it is usually deep cuts from fighting, unneutered Tom cats. See Glasgow Vet School info: http://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/vet/cad/informationforowners/felineimmunodeficiencyvirusfiv/" onclick="window.open(this.href)...

Re: Cat Proofing the Garden

Hi I had secure-a-cat installed a few years ago. The product itself is excellent but be careful how it is installed. Due to cost I had it installed by local tradespeople but unfortuntely they were not cat aware and there were gaps which made it useless. I had to block up escape routes as they became...

Very concerned about this poor old boy. You say he has done 'serious damage in the past', so this is not a new thing. What has triggered his eviction at this specific point in time? I think there is more to this. If he is biting it could be because he is in pain. Have you taken him to a vet to rule ...

Re: stray with cracked ribs

Definitely needs vet advice re: treatment ASAP. Did the vets x-ray? Depending on the extent of the damage he may just need cage rest and metacam. As a stray I understand RSPCA will pay for initial diagnostics and pain relief to some limited amount. Once vet gives you estimate of costs involved you c...

Re: How do we know when a cat is a true stray???

It is a difficult one. Helping a stray or catnapping someone's cat? Personally, if a cat isn't neutered and isn't chipped I would consider it a stray, have it vetchecked and neutered and release back. If it keeps coming round I would ask around, put up posters etc. If no response then I would keep o...

Hi and welcome to CC. Bless you for caring for this old FIV girl. I guess you are in the States as you mention Craigs list. The most imporant thing for FIVs is to keep them stress free. It sounds like she feels safe in the basement, and you seem to have made it a palace indeed for her. As long as so...
