Re: Did I do the right thing?

I find the ashes to jewellery really interesting and something I would definitely think about. I took Honey wrapped up in her carrier to the pet crematorium today - the lady asked if I wanted to say goodbye but I broke down and explained that I couldn’t - the lady that I saw was lovely but I’m now s...

Re: Did I do the right thing?

I just want to say a huge thank you for the replies that I have received - your kind words mean so much at this difficult time. I have an appointment at 5pm with the pet crematorium - my sister lost her beloved Labrador in Feb at the age of 17 and we are taking Honey to the same place - strangely my...

Did I do the right thing?

Apologies if this is long but I have a tendency to waffle. Back story - I lost my ginger boy back in 2014 very suddenly following a cat fight (he was just 4). Almost a year later I decided I would be a cat fostered and was asked if I could look after 2 cats who had been taken to the vet by their own...

Missing black/white male cat GU9

Currently looking after 2 cats for a friend who is moving - had the cats for one week when the older one managed to escape. Owner is not from local area and I'm beside myself with worry.

Cat is 6 years old, mainly black but with some white and has quite thinning hair. Any info appreciated

Re: Cat cremation

I plan to get 3 nice photo frames and put my fave pic of each cat (the 2 that have passed and the one I am going to adopt) to go on my wall. I really wanted something that I could wear - whenever I go out I always wear a ring that was my Mums and it makes me feel closer to her (if that makes sense) ...

Re: Cat cremation

So sorry for your losses - it's so hard. I adore animals and feel like I have a connection with cats (I'm not one of those crazy people that think I'm a cat - seriously - I read about someone the other day who was convinced she was a cat trapped in a womans body?!). When we found a stray cat way bac...

Re: Cat cremation

I feel so low - I was hoping to get a piece of jewellery to put some of Milkos ashes in. All I have of Jasper are a collection of his whiskers that I used to keep when I found them. I have one other foster cat who I am thinking of not adopting now because she might end up dead. I had Jasper for just...

Cat cremation

I am so upset right now - one of my foster cats who I was planning to adopt had to be out to sleep on 5th Feb. This was extremely difficult especially as I lost my own cat 18 months ago. When my cat died I didn't know as the vets he was taken to denied he had been taken there and after launching an ...

Re: One week after I lost the greatest of Gatsby's

I am so sorry for your loss and I completely understand the emotions that you are going through right now. I too wasn't even thinking of getting a cat until my ginger boy came into my life at a difficult time - might sound daft but I sometimes think he was something of a feline angel - honestly don'...

Re: Grieving once more

I am lucky in that I have tonnes of pictures and videos of Milko - downside is I've been sat watching them and am in a state again. It is so nice to know there are others that understand - the pain is so raw and I know that it will ease but right now it is so painful :(

Re: Grieving once more

My partner has said that he can take her to the crem but as I was the one who looked after her (I don't live with my partner) I would feel like I was letting her down.

Still in shock over what has happened and trying to make sure that Honey is ok but I feel like I'm falling apart

Grieving once more

18 months ago my beautiful ginger cat died - you lovely people on here helped me so much with your understanding. Although my Jasper died in August 2014, I didn't get confirmation until 31st October that he had been taken to a local vet and cremated without my knowledge (I only found out for sure wh...

Re: Why does it not get easier

These forums were a huge help to me after I lost my cat last year (he was 4 and died following a cat fight). Like you I felt cheated as he was still so young and I always thought I would have him until he was an old boy. I know it won't feel like it now but it does get easier - the pain never fully ...

How do we cope?

I joined these forums after I lost my beloved cat Jasper last year. It was sudden and a complete shock (made worse by the fact that a problem at the vet he was taken to meant that I had no definite clarification that he had died for over 2 months and never got his ashes). I've been catching up on th...

Re: Is this normal?

Hi again - so it is coming up to a year (next week) since my beloved cat died. I am so emotional at the moment missing him so much. I wanted to do something in his memory and have long wanted to do voluntary work but sometimes struggle to go out due to anxiety so I registered an interest in cat fost...

SOUTH CROYDON / PURLEY OAKS - sadly deceased

A good friend of mine contacted me in the early hours of this morning, distressed after hitting a cat - he has put a post on Facebook on Cats Protection site and I said I would pop a post on here as he is desperate to locate the cats owners (the cat sadly passed away). This is a cut and paste of the...

Re: loss, how to cope?

I'm so sorry to read of your loss :( I lost my cat last August following a cat fight and he was 4 years old and I felt that he was far too young to go. 15 months is such a young age but as has been said before, you obviously gave him lot of love and an amazing home in that short time. Oh how I under...

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Sorry about your loss too. How did he die from the fight? My cat Ted came home today covered in scratches and blood from fighting. I keep telling myself that despite what happened to Erik he still had a good life but I still feel totally robbed of him.[/quote]...

Is this normal?

I lost my gorgeous cat last year (he died on 26th August but due to a massive problem with the vets he was taken to, they cremated him without me knowing and I only found out at the end of November). I am still getting upset - sometimes extremely tearful. He went out one night and got into a fight w...

Hi there - I will type a longer reply when I have time but just wanted to say that my thoughts are with you. Crying

I lost my gorgeous ginger cat at the end of August. After hearing about a cat being taken to a local vet after dying of a heart attack following a cat fight. I only found out for sure that it was my cat a few weeks ago as the vets were, to put it politely; useless. I contacted them many times and th...
