Re: “Health and Behaviour” Section of the Forum

There are two types of behaviour - behaviour linked with health, and behaviour only (that has no link to health). A question on whether a cat that nibbles your hand might start biting, is, to most people, a behaviour only question, and not a General Cat Chatting question. Look at the main page, it s...

Re: Going under kitchen units

Hey Ahmed, you could block the gap off, perhaps with cardboard, tightly packed - he will probably have a good old rummage and scrabble at it at first, just to see if he can get the better of it but it'll keep him occupied and out of mischief - until he finds something else to occupy his mind lol. I...

Re: Feeding cat boiled chicken

@Sarah, ohhhh, raw chicken, I didn't try that, maybe I'll offer him a bit. He has never been out but there is no harm in trying! @Rest, yes, maybe the PAH recipe was full of junk, if I had your culinary skills, I'd definitely try and come up with my own gravy recipes and then take them on Dragons De...

Going under kitchen units

Hello, This one is driving me crazy, so maybe someone can help. There is a small gap under one of the units in the kitchen. Sometimes, TC has an interest in that gap. He will go and sit in front of it looking at it for ages, and then sometimes he goes inside and goes all the way around the base unit...

Thanks all, I was worried as I had never seen him do that before, but it's good to know it is normal, and he seemed really lively today lol.

Re: My cat's soul... Where is it now? :(

If you believe humans have a soul and there is an afterlife, then you should believe your cat does too.

If you don't believe in anything spiritual, then at least your cat still lives on in your heart, and you should be happy you gave it a good life.

Re: My cat's soul... Where is it now? :(

As for me, I suppose you could say I am 'religious' though it is not a term I would use. I do have faith (sorely tested at times!) The Theologians tell us there are no animals in heaven because they have no souls - Hogwash and Horse Feathers. Then how come the Bible talks of the lion lying down wit...

Cat moving when asleep

Hello, TC has done two things the past few days more than once. I am at the computer and he is on the floor next to me sleeping under the radiator. What he has done about three times when sleeping is lick his lips. In his sleep! I hear a licking noise, he is asleep, but he is licking his lips for ab...

Re: Feeding cat boiled chicken

Well I will not be around here for much more time, so I enjoy every moment I get with him, because once I move out, I will probably not be down here again and so will probably never see him again, so I just want to try and keep him as happy as possible when my landlady isn't around as I think he doe...

Re: Feeding cat boiled chicken

Well my landlady is on holiday and I am looking after him. He doesn't want to eat his dry food, and he finishes his tin of wet food in a few hours and then sits there and meows away. I read here before that someone feeds their cat boiled chicken, so I thought I will get him some. I hope he likes it!

Re: Feeding cat boiled chicken

Great, thanks, no, I won't be eating any, so I'll put some in the freezer as he's a small cat and I only want it to supplement this with his normal food.

Great, I'll cut them up and do it as you say, grilling sounds fun but I have never used the grill and the boiling way seems so much easier :D

Can someone please now give further advice, for fillets this size, do I shove them all together in the pan, how much water, how much time, do I need to cut them up further?

Thanks.

Re: Feeding cat boiled chicken

Ah, thanks all. I have never cooked chicken in my life, let alone bought any, so this will be fun. I know my parents used to buy "boneless chicken", but that was from a butchers and I don't know if the supermarket does it. I guess chicken breasts don't have any bones, so I'll get that, sho...

Feeding cat boiled chicken

I have seen some posters mention before they give their cat boiled chicken. What is the recipe? Is there some special part of a chicken you give? Do you serve it hot old cold?

Thanks.

Re: coming inside

I think the fact that I adopted a 12 year old cat who was shut in a cage for 3 months says at least something about my concern for the welfare and happiness of cats. However as an experienced cat owner I don't think that wanting something more than a two day visit for food etc is unreasonable . I w...

Hi I have just joined this forum to try and get some advice. About 10 months ago I adopted a rescue cat , 12 years old, and had been in the cattery for 3 months. As soon as I let her out she was very happy and prefers to stay out. The problem is now she won't come in !!! She has been coming for foo...

Re: Is it wrong to keep a cat indoors?

I live with a cat who is an indoor cat only. He has never been outside, except for one trip to the vet and one night at someone else's home. When I come into the flat, he sometimes comes to the door and peeks outside into the communal corridor. He is a very nervous cat by nature, so he just stands t...

It sounds to me like he's just playing though. Have you got any toys you can entertain him with while you're home alone with him? It seems like he probably just wants to burn off some energy :) My landlady has a few balls, that he sometimes plays with. One day I saw one lying around, and I do love ...

I am sorry you're still having no luck, this must be really tough for you. Is Bailey a friendly cat towards strangers? If he got lost and ended up far away, and someone approached him to take him in, would he be friendly enough to go with them? Or would he run away? I would really hope that if someone did find him, they were considerate enough to realise this might be some...

Re: It's the not knowing....

It must be so agonising. I never know how someone can steal a cat, what a selfish and heartless act. One of my ex colleagues had two cats he got from a rescue centre, they were brothers who had always been together and the shelter said they have to take both, and then after a few weeks, one was take...

Did the cat take a lick?

Does anyone ever have the situation where they left some food attended, and then wondered whether the cat took a lick? For examples, I was just eating some peanuts. They were in a small bowl, I went to the restroom, and forgot that TC was in the living room. Now I have come back and I don't know whe...
