Meat and bone mincer
I am looking to buy a mincer to give my cats and kittens a raw food diet. Does anybody use one and can somebody advise what to get? I have seen loads but they generally won't be suitable for mincing chicken bones.

Diarrhoea in kittens
Giardia as well as Ecoli and various other bacteria are present in the gut of cats as well as ours. The low levels are counteracted by the good bacteria. It's only when the bad bacteria grow that you will have a problem. Antibiotics can cause the imbalance and it's best to give a probiotic at the sa...

Lactating cat has bad diarrhoea
I hadn't thought of the R C sensitivity pouches. Will order some. Just waiting to see if the childrens' kaolin works. My vet said to put them on the antibiotics in case there is an infection going on but I have heard that it can make the diarrhoea worse. I will need to finish the course which is a b...

Re: Lactating cat has bad diarrhoea
Thank you for replying. My vet told me to put them on Synulox, which I did but don't think it is working. I have now given them childrens' kaolin which I am told can work for cats too so fingers crossed but if that doesn't work, or the Panucar doesn't do it, then maybe I need to get a faecal sample ...

Lactating cat has bad diarrhoea
This is something I encounter every time a couple of my breeding Siamese have kittens around the 2-3 week old stage. One mum is very runny and the other is not quite so bad. Have been giving their usual Orijen dried food and Grau wet kitten food but put them on white fish when the diarrhoea began. I...

Re: Diarrhoea in kittens
Thank you for the replies. Glad to hear I'm not alone with the kitten diarrhoea but it is such hard work having to clean them and the trays a lot. I think I will try weaning the kittens on white fish or chicken and then later incorporate the Grau kitten food. It's quite ironic that I give my kittens...

Diarrhoea in kittens
I am a breeder of Siamese and I am fed up with having kittens with diarrhoea. They get it around five or six weeks of age and normally I give them Synulox and that nearly always clears it up. I give them top quality food (Grau) but doesn't make any difference. I used to give them Natures Menu. They ...

Re: Neighbour's free roaming ex- stray
I would take him to a rescue centre where he will be rehomed to somebody who will (hopefully) give him a better life. Otherwise you could let him stay in your garage, putting a cat flap in and feed him as he isn't getting looked after by his owner. It is so annoying that people take on pets and don'...
