Re: Best way of giving liquid meds in syringe into mouth?

I didn't know you could get liquid pred.
I used to put the syringe in the side of my girlies mouth and aim upwards for the roof of the mouth - there is a little gap in there teeth there as she would not open her mouth for me. Sounds like you are getting there now though, well done.

Re: Sex of Kitten Please HELP

Possibly whoever homed the kitten to you was not experienced enough to tell so guessed rather than say they weren't sure. Sometimes the boys testicles may take a bit longer to drop down. My sister had a boy and his were tucked inside him (he was still neutered). As your vet says, give it a while as ...

Re: Unable to move on

Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear off your loss. I lost one of my beautiful angels to oral cancer a couple of years ago at a similar age and it's a cruel, vile illness. From diagnosis to losing my beloved girlie (my first cat) was 3 months as well, and I fear I left that too late, as it progresses so fast...

Re: Timid cat

Have you considered setting up a kitty cam to see how they behave when you are not around? I think for me whether it was an issue would depend on whether your girl is unhappy or just timid. You can pick them up for around £20 off Amazon, and mine have been worth their weight in gold to keep an eye o...

CatLady42, I'm not surprised you are in shock, it's like within the space of a couple of hours your bubble of getting through life with your furry loved one has completely collapsed. There is no warning, no period of preparation, nothing, just this traumatic event followed by a gaping void. I have b...

Re: SUDDEN UNEXPECTED DEATH OF ELDERLY CAT

I am so sorry that you have been through this heart breaking experience. People think it should be better because 'they've got to a good age' and 'they knew how loved they were' but none of that makes the pain any easier. You did the right thing letting your boy go. You had no option. I know this wo...

Re: My baby died whilst I was away

Said goodbye to my VIP cat today. Losing 2 cats in 3 weeks is a huge loss. My heart is ripped apart. I was blessed with 16.5 years of love with my VIP, and only 9 years with my baby and have no regrets, I will never forget the day they came into my life, nor the days they left. May they both run fre...

Re: My baby died whilst I was away

My VIP cat decided it wasn't her time yet today, she just needed more pain meds and is eating again. Shes old and poorly but for now at least, I have her and we are taking it one day at a time. Thank God for her strength 💕
We've been together for 16 years out of her 19.5. What a privilege 💜💕💜💚

Thanks Molly. My VIP is definitely sending me the 'ready to cross the bridge' signs and we have an appointment for tomorrow. It feels different to losing my baby tortie. We have had a fantastic and long life together, we have grown old together. I have fought for her over the years and am preparing ...

This is a horrible problem that i had and my cat that was being bullied recently passed away from a suspected heart attack so you need to start dealing with this. I found a lot of information online (after the fact) about cat bullying that I wish I had read years ago. I never worked out what the iss...

Re: Moving 180miles with an elderly cat? Help!

Aww nice to see others with old girls who are soldering on. One thing I found useful for vet trips was to layer the bottom of the carrier to prepare for the inevitable accident. So for example, a puppy pad, then a towel, then another puppy pad and so on. And don't feed them on the morning of the mov...

Hello I so feel your pain with getting a reluctant cat to eat. I have a 19 year old. She survived a dental at 18 but still wasn't great for a few months, so was having ongoing antibiotic injections and there was a lot of vomiting. i was really at my wits end. I think we tried nearly every cat food i...

Molly, Thank you for your lovely words, I read them over the weekend but wanted to reply properly, rather than from my phone. You are so right about the buttons. Thank you Kay. She did have a hiding spot but it was upstairs. She spent a lot of time there. Had i found her there curled up looking peaceful, the pain would have been lessened. I too just lost my baby suddenly. Thank you everyone for sharing your stories, it's a great comfort to know that others understand the heartbreak. My baby died whilst I was away

I feel sick just thinking about it, my baby died whilst I was away. She was always a scared cat, a feral kitten who came to love only me - boy did that feel special. i have/had 8 cats, rescues, from the shelter and off the street from my vile neighbours. She came to me after my last tortie died at j...

A word of warning about Worlds/cats best cat litter if your cat has calichi virus - one of my cats developed sores on his paws after we used this for a few months. I'm dealing with the same issue sadly, only I've got a non eater so I'm happy if she eats anything (as long as it doesn't upset her stomach.)
