Lump on neck

One of my cats had her annual vaccinations on the 5th and I noticed a lump under her fur around the vaccination site on sunday. I posted on another thread. I was worried about fibrosarcomas, and have spent a torrid week since I took her to the vets on tuesday morning, convinced it was cancer. She wa...

Re: Lump after vaccination

One of my cats had her annual vaccinations on the 5th (12 days ago) and I noticed a lump under her fur around the vaccination site last night. Obviously I'm worried about fibrosarcomas, but realise that it could be a vaccination lump. Do you think it's worth getting her checked out at the vets, or t...

Don't want to speak too soon, but there's been no recurrence for 15 days and noticed her faeces were solid yesterday.

Re: Diarrhoea and blood in faeces

Thanks all. I'm squirting the medication into her mouth after food (much to her chagrin) and have seen diarrhoea in the tray. I saw her straining yesterday and she produced a small amount of diarrhoea. I haven't noticed any blood for two days (touch wood). Eating normally, and diarrhoea stools seem ...

Coco's chin acne cleared up by itself, but plastic or dirty bowls are one of the main culprits.

Re: Post Acute Pancreatitis Problems

Two of my cats have had pancreatitis (at different times), and the vet wanted to see them back in the surgery two days after to check up on them.

Did the vets ask you to come back?

Diarrhoea and blood in faeces

Hi all. You may recall that one of my cats has had sporadic diarrhoea and blood in her faeces (usually about once every six months), that the vets aren't concerned about. Now another cat has had the same thing, only it has happened every day since thursday. She is straining, and watery, often bright...

I got the follow up blood test results from the vets today, and everything is now back to normal.

She's been acting fine for the last two weeks. Fingers crossed.

Re: Jaundice

Acting almost normal friday and today so far, eating a fair amount, going outside, rolling, scratching fence posts etc. Vets today said jaundice and temperature has gone - the inflamed pancreas was squashing the bile duct, so have to go back for more bloods in 2 weeks. Gave her a jab to replace 2 of...

She's back home now, with 4 pills to take per day! Has to go back on saturday for a check up. Let's hope it gets better. She's certainly much different from how she was earlier in the week. Has been eating loads of Royal Canin, but has gone back to sleep now.

Re: Jaundice

Thanks for all the support. She was anaesthetised while they gave her a scan and an ultrasound today, and fortunately there were no signs of tumours. Apparently she had a blocked bile duct and pancreatitis. One of my others had the latter three years ago and was fine within a week. I hope hers is th...

Re: Jaundice

The vet said she has a scan tomorrow to see whether it's an infection/cancer etc. The blood tests indicated her liver is quite inflamed. I went and saw her earlier in her pen and she actually was standing up, connected to a drip) and ate a bowl of food while I was there (didn't touch it before I arr...

Jaundice

Hi. Two days ago one of my cats started hiding away. Yesterday I took her to the vets and temperature was normal, no obvious signs of anything, gums pink etc. The vet said try feeding her for another day and bring her in if she's not better tomorrow (today). Very little food eaten yesterday, no wate...

Re: Anyone ever find blood in faeces?

I did take her to the vets and she was seen within an hour of me phoning up. I took the baby wipe I used to clean it off her with me. There were no signs of cuts or trauma down there. The vet took her temperature and checked her abdomen, weight etc. She didn't think there was any obvious sign of a p...

Re: Anyone ever find blood in faeces?

Hi. I've noticed blood on the fur behind the bottom of one of my cats this morning. At least I know who it was likely to have been in october.

Do you think I should take her to the vets?

Behaviour has been normal ever since then, as I've been keeping a dairy.

I leave my cats at home for 11 hours most weekdays when I go to work. I have an internet camera so I get a notification on my phone every time one walks by. As you say, he is confused by the new environment (and probably different people).

Re: Is my siamese really a siamese?

I'd get a vet to check her out if worried. One of my cats (pictured on my avatar) has Siamese characteristics - blue eyes, mostly white coat, distinctive yowly voice and a tendency to jump on my shoulders, but I don't know who the father is. Her mother is a black and white moggy (also in my househol...

Re: My cat keeps waking me up really early and sleeping all day

I normally leave my back door or back window open slightly when they are out and don't want to come back in at night.

Almost invariably they are back in and on the bed just when I've settled down, and have to get up and close the door again.

I'll give them a go, thanks. They currently have Whiskas in gravy, Purina One sensitive and Dreamies, with Sheba at the weekends.
