Re: Just a bad vaccine reaction?
I don't know about rabies, but a lump (the size of a marble) appeared on one of my cat's neck at the vaccination site around 2 weeks after her vaccination in 2020. It went down after another 10 days. I panicked and had a fine needle aspirate biopsy done which confirmed it was just a cystic reaction ...

I always take mine after 14 months. Apparently the cat flu one is only required every 5 years now. No shortage reported by my vets (Surrey).

Re: Cat occasionally stumbling
Got her back today. All lesions which could have been tumours are not actually tumours, and no surgical intervention is necessary, just another course of steroids is recommended.

Re: Cat occasionally stumbling
He phoned me back to say that the lesion on her adrenal gland hasn't changed, and it may not even be a tumour, which is good news. The main conditions seem to be arthritis in her hocks (ankles) and the meningioencephalomyelitis (MUA), which was suspected last year (an autoimmune disease), both of wh...

Re: Cat occasionally stumbling
She's back at the vet hospital today to check on her progress, and to have an another ultrasound on the suspected Conn's Syndrome. He said he thought she was ever so slightly worse on one of the neuro exams, but still quite good. He recommends going back on prednisolone. The good news is that he's r...

Re: Cat occasionally stumbling
No particular change recently. She's down to 0.5 prednisolone every two days, and is still climbing fences and going for walks.
She may not be as mobile in jumping as a year ago, but isn't currently stumbling.

Re: Small rash above eye
It looks a bit like peri-ocular dermatitis, which one of my cats has had recurrently for a few years.
It isn't serious, but I'm not a vet so can't diagnose.

Re: Cat occasionally stumbling
She definitely has some arthritic issues, is a bit slow climbing the stairs but very fast going down them. She climbed the fence yesterday and jumped onto the flat roof extension, so not too bad. She will be evaluated again in a month or so, so we'll see what the neuorologist says. She hasn't been s...

Re: Cat occasionally stumbling
She hasn't stumbled since she started on the steroids. I'd say she is better than when first started in that respect, but she still is stiff and has a wobble when walking.

Re: Incontinence or control issue
This is very interesting. One of my cats is being treated with steroids for a suspected autoimmune disorder (MUO). She also started going outside the litter box since she started on prednisolone. The neurologist doesn't think it is related to her disorder. Sometimes she scoots.\ What does your cat h...

Re: Cat occasionally stumbling
The neurologist phoned me up before Christmas saying he's happy with her progress so far (after seeing the videos preceeded by '20211223' on the Youtube site), and doesn't want to see her again until April, unless there is a relapse. Cutting down on steroids currently and still taking gabapentin (wh...

Re: My eldest cat has nasal cancer.
I'm not sure they can really confirm cancer without a biopsy, although I'm not a vet. A veterinary neurologist said that even MRI scans can't confirm cancer, they can just find lesions, which may or not be cancer. Maybe the nasal symptoms such as sneezing suggests this? One of my cats developed two ...

Re: Cat occasionally stumbling
She scooted again on sunday when eliminating, caught it on video, but the neurologist (a different one this time as the other one is away) reiterated that she doesn't think it is related. Latest videos are on the Youtube channel on page 1 under 'NEW' if anyone's interested. She started on gabapentin...

Re: Cat occasionally stumbling
Got her back home today and she's responded fine to the treatment. Now we have to see if it has any effect on her gait. The diagnosis latest sheet doesn't even mention spinal lymphoma, just MUA, which is good I suppose. After giving her a wormer a few days ago I haven't noticed any further scooting ...

Re: Toxoplasmosis - Indoor Cat??
One of my cats has intermittent ataxia (wobbliness on hind legs), although none of the other symptoms you mention. After extensive (and expensive) testing they considered toxoplasmosis and FIP a possibility, but tests ruled them out, considering MUA more likely. Apparently they say FIP is a possibil...

Apparently the symptoms of Dracaena toxicity are relatively transient, but if he isn't better soon I'd take him back. The problem is the plant contains saponins. I have loads of soapwort in my garden (Saponaria officinalis) which is the main source of saponins. I've never had any problems with my ca...

Yes, seems fine as far as I can tell.
Hyperaldosteronism can also add to an ataxic gait.
She has to go to the specialists again tomorrow for another neuro check up, another blood test and probably intravenous cytabarin.

I had a look in Pets at Home today and there are Extra large trays, but sides are a bit high.
I decided to use a grow bag tray (very large and very low-sided).
