Re: Good Bye and I Hope to See You All Again Elsewhere

Thanks so much Ruth and Mollycat for your lovely words. There is sadness this end too, after so many years of having a forum it will seem very strange not to have it around. Thanks also to Molly for the hot tip for administering Metacam, we've not heard about that before, but it sounds like a good p...

Re: Forum change on 18 December

Hi all, Thanks for all the lovely comments. It seems like the end of an era for us here too! We've run a forum in one way or another since 2001, and had many changes over the years. There is such a lot of good information and advice on here, hence the decision to leave it as a 'read-only' resource. ...

Re: Long term Fostering and possible adoption

Hi Arno, Fostering is a great idea, and most rescues are always in need of new foster homes. Two things I would suggest: First, check out our page on Fostering: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/foster-cat-kitten Then drop a line to our Help Desk for more info: cat.advice (at) catchat.org Or otherwi...

Re: Kitten FIV+ Question

Hi, I'm surprised a vet would test a kitten so young, as if the mother is FIV positive then the kittens will have antibodies from her milk and so give a positive test, even though they are very unlikely themselves to be FIV positive. He will probably test negative if you test again at about 4 months...

Hi Good points from fjm, you may need to play detective to pinpoint the cause if it's stress related, and a good idea to get Luna checked out by a vet if it's continuing. Worth checking out our page about inappropriate toileting too: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/cat-toilet-spray-indoors Please ...
