Re: Health insurance with dental cover - any leads please?

I know pet plan cover dental issues (not due to wear and tear though) if you have an annual dental check. My vet said this is as simple as them checking their mouth on an annual check (for us when we have their boosters). obviously they won't cover any of the illnesses reliant on the boosters if the...

Re: Feline leukaemia

Sorry - meant to report back sooner. Both cats developed lumps on their hip on their second injection, but both also tested negative for fell antigen (meaning current infection). Fantastic news. Therefore they either just both reacted due to unknown reasons OR possibly infected in the past and have ...

Re: Lump under right arm/leg

I would always go for another opinion/confirmation if possible and not at a cost to the cat (such as operating in an elderly cat).

Re: Lethargy after vaccination

I read a few days ago, on several sites that it's common for vaccination, esp felv, to cause lethargy for 24-48 hrs.

I don't think I've seen any posts about Boris before so not familiar with his problem but I hope all goes well and that you get an answer. Good luck.

Re: Can anyone help me with my cats sickness

Not passing stool is not a good sign. I'd definitely take her back, mention this, and also request basic bloods.

Re: Nee kitten. is it indoor or outdoor cat?

I too think its unfair to keep a cat in as that would be like never letting a child out for fear of something bad happening. I think they need a choice. However I too would try to get them into a routine - maybe an hour or two outside when you get home from work, then in for meal and bed? We got our...

Re: Help-I am an anxious mess about this...

They do say that there are more people in the UK that claim to be cat owners than there are actual cats!

Re: food for an old cat

How about adding some cheap frozen chicken breast? We used to feed out cats with sensitive tummy/CRF this.

Not good. Cats are so sensitive to many things. I worry about most things with them. Pleased the cat was ok.

Re: Feline leukaemia

Read your link - reading everything I can! It specifically mentions a lump forming so I'll still get them tested but will try not to worry too much until I know.

Re: Feline leukaemia

Thanks. Since the lumps appeared I have read that about testing first. My vet didn't mention it though so I didn't realise, but I also read that some don't bother as it's more cost and giving the vaccine won't make a difference.

Re: Feline leukaemia

Yep it sure is! The cats are not due back until a week tomorrow (for 2nd vaccination, which vet is injecting at another site in body) so I'll ask about getting them tested then. I've read that the vaccine shouldn't interfere with test.

Re: Feline leukaemia

Thanks - that's what i am hoping, although I read it can be asymptomatic for a few years. One of them
Just had to have a tooth removed (he's 4yrs old) so now I'm worrying its dental disease due to felv rather than regular dental disease!

Feline leukaemia

Hi all I recently adopted two cats, age 5 and 4 and thought to be father and son. The owner had died and it is unknown if they were tested for, or had been vaccinated again the leukaemia virus. They had their first vaccine 12 days ago and have both developed a swelling at the site of vaccination. I ...
