Neighbours cat in heat won't leave my garden
Hello, Hoping someone can advise me. One of my neighbour's has a 7 year old female cat that hasn't been spayed and has never had kittens. The cat has started camping out in my garden (along with a few male admirers) when she is in heat and it's driving me and my neutered male cat mad. He isn't good ...

Cat on heat camping out in my garden!
My neighbours cat is on heat and has spent the last 2 days camping out in my garden making a hell of a racket and stressing out my neutered male as well as myself. Is there anything I can do to deter it? I’ve taken it back to its owners but as it hates being inside they can’t (or won’t) keep it in. ...

Re: Cat scared of me after vet visit - advice please
Thank you all for your responses. He came out from his hiding place late last night and let me stroke him. He has eaten and is wondering around but is certainly not himself. He didn't sleep much last night so I have stayed at home to day to keep an eye on him. If it is a bite, it would have happened...

Re: Cat scared of me after vet visit - advice please
Thank you. I think I had better keep a close eye on him, as he is probably in pain.

Cat scared of me after vet visit - advice please
Hello, I came home this afternoon to find my cat struggling to walk and in discomfort. He had been on on his own in doors all day. Managed to get him to the vet where the limping and crying vanished. Vet examined him and came to the conclusion that he had been in a fight and probably has a puncture ...

Re: Cat unwilling to jump following a fight
Thank you Ruth. I have just got home and he seems bright. No limping or signs of pain. He hasn’t attempted to climb or jump yet so I don’t know if his bounce is back or not. I have booked a provision vet appointment for tomorrow evening just in case, as it was a full on wrestling match rather than a...

Cat unwilling to jump following a fight
Hello My 9 year old neutered male cat decided to pick a fight with another cat yesterday morning. I managed to get him away and checked him over for obvious wounds. I couldn’t see anything. He went off and slept for the next 5 hours. After he woke up and had something to eat I noticed that he was un...

Re: Cat no longer likes any of his food
Took him to the vet yesterday. They could find no reason why he is off his food. No bad dental problems, stomach ok. Temperature ok. He han’t Lost weight. They didn’t say anything about possible constipation though. Vet thinks it might be his metabolism slowing down! Since the visit he has eaten som...

Re: Cat no longer likes any of his food
His teeth seem ok. I have tried pate type food but he won’t even lick it. I gave him few small pieces of lamb that I had for dinner this evening. He loved it and chomped his way through it, so he hasn’t got a problem chewing. I will try the paper collar idea and hope he falls back in love with the f...

Cat no longer likes any of his food
Hi. I’m looking for advice as I am at my wits end. My 9 year old male cat has over the past week decided he dorsn’t Like any of the cat food I give him. He has always been a bit fussy but things are now out of hand. He fusses for food but any I give him, previous favourites, new varieties, cheap, ex...

I haven’t been able to check as he goes to the toilet outside. He does have a litter tray but he only uses it when he needs a wee and is inside.

Cat dragging bottom and frequent licking
Hello My 9 year old male cat often drags his bottom along the carpet and is often licking his nether regions. He doesn’t do it after going to the toilet so his bottom is clean. I told the vet a few weeks ago who checked his anal glands which were ok. Told me to apply Sudocream if his bottom looks so...

Re: Moving home with a newly blind cat - advice needed
Thank you for that re-assurance. I am probably stressing more than the cat ever will, but as I am still getting my head round the fact that my baby can no longer see, I am struggling with my emotions and thinking that I am being cruel by moving home.

Old cat suddenly not using the claws on one front leg
Hello My cat is 20 years old and having lost most of the spring in her legs, uses her claws to clamber onto furniture etc.. This morning I notice that she only extended the claws in one of her front feet which made it harder for her to climb, although is managed eventually. :( She hates anyo...
