Re: Need a good vet/vet hospital in Aberdeen, Scotland & Lon
I'm very surprised you were able to bring an unneutered cat into the country. Male cats have a very light anaesthetic and are normally done in 10 minutes. The vet will listen to their heart before the anaesthetic to ensure they can cope with the anaesthetic. Vets do offer pre anaesthetic bloods bef...

Re: Where to buy? Help with advice.
If you are feeding non commercial food, you will need a calcium supplement, there are some available if you search for raw food, bit puzzled by the 30% veg/porridge /dairy, doesn't sound like what they would eat in the wild. The % of vegetables and grains in the diet may differ individually. The mi...

Re: Where to buy? Help with advice.
Thanks a lot, I will investigate Tesco shelves :D I have seen a lot of examples of owners who change many brands of cat's food because non fits the cat. Some cause fur loss, some cause diarrhea etc... Don't want to make experiments. So I feed him normally :) Nothing very difficult - 70% meat and 30%...

Re: Need a good vet/vet hospital in Aberdeen, Scotland & Lon
Hi there - as far as I know a vet will only castrate a cat under general anaesthetic. Most procedures, such as x rays, are done under a general because of the need to keep the cat still; can you imagine trying to hold a cat down for castration even if it was painless? But I really feel the general ...

Where to buy? Help with advice.
Hello everyone! I have found it difficult to buy things which I used to get back home, here in Scotland. I feed my cat with natural food so I need a few things to get for him. I need Calcium tablets, which doesn't contain any additions. I mean pure calcium. In Russia everyone buys Calcid for their c...

Hello Have you tried to give her wooden sticks? Just check online which wood is not poisonous for cats... I am sure there are a lot of trees and bushes in Spain Though I think dry wood or dead wood would be better than fresh one.

Re: Scratching Cats
Hello :) I am trying to teach my cat good manners as well. There are a few important things here: 1. Do not punish the cat, because it will become mean and destroy your furniture in revenge. For them it's natural to scratch, so they will not understand what your are punishing them for. 2. When they ...

Re: URGENT ADVICE NEEDED
Hello there. Question number 1. What is cat's body temperature?.. In such cases it would be the first thing to check... Question number 2. How is the other cat doing and what do they both eat? Did you get the blood test and x-ray results? Allergy might be the case here, but after your description of...

Re: Flea options
I have come from central Russia :) Fleas survive there happily even in winter when it is below -20C. Russia is a very dangerous place to keep a cat outdoors. There are a lot of homeless cats with infections and dogs which can kill a cat easily. So we have always kept our cats indoors. My parents now...

Need a good vet/vet hospital in Aberdeen, Scotland & London
Hello everyone! I moved to Scotland from abroad with my pet cat just 3 weeks ago. I need to find a good vet and vet hospital for him. It is a male cat, 1-year-old. Right now I only need to check his health in general (planning to check his heart, other inner organs and get a blood test done). After ...

Re: Flea options
Capricious cats :) I would use a collar on mine if he did any of weird actions. I found my cat 10 months ago as a 2 months old kitten thrown into the streets by some cruel people. He was covered in fleas obviously. Used spot-on, he tried to lick it but I was alert :D I only wonder one thing. How saf...

Re: urinating indoors
Hello! I have only one question. Is the cat castrated? If not, then why? Many problems are avoidable with castration, including cystitis. If it is not the case, I would recommend to try Feliway calming collar with pheromones, it is a really good thing. This company also has sprays and other stuff wh...
