Cat with Ripped Ear
My cat has ripped his ear slightly. The wound doesn't look infected and I have sprayed an antibacterial spray for cats and wounds on it. But looking closely at it I dont see how it will heal together as there is a v shaped chink in his ear now. Should I take him to the vet for stitches? Or just acce...

Re: teeth cleaning
Personally I would NOT try to clean my cats teeth, I can't see it ending happily! You can get biscuits/snacks that are supposed to help 'clean' their teeth from places like Pets at Home.

Re: Adopting a new cat
Personally I wouldn't adopt another cat. If the 2 you have get on mostly, then why upset the apple cart?! I would be inclined to leave it, and then in the future if the opportunity arose you could consider it, but I wouldn't go out looking.

Re: Does a male cat travel further than a female?
I think you just have to be wary of some private sellers, but if you visit someone's house you can usually get a good feel for them. It's a shame that the rescues wont help you, especially as with a kitten and winter coming you will probably want to keep the kitten in for several months anyway. I kn...

Mark B I use that product from Home Bargains too, and it's great. Fortunately we dont get many accidents anymore, but when I use this it seems to do the trick. For 99p you cant go wrong!

Great New Online Pet Store
Hi! I was searching for some Feliway (after discovering that it was double the price in Pets At Home I am looking online) and came across a new online pet shop; Fetch, run by Ocado. I dont know if they are starting off with low prices but I also ended up ordering a big bag of iams and several smalle...

Re: IKEA cat hacks...
Wow, I've never soon those ideas before, thank you! The 'Ikeahack' is a great idea.
Also like the high up ledge idea. We have 2 cat baskets in our house. 1 on the floor and 1 on top of the fridge. The fridge one is always the full one!

Dry Cat Food recommendations
Normally my cats get wet cat food and some dry biscuits to nibble on. I normally buy Felix or Whiskas sachets and then GoCat or Aldi or Lidl own brand biscuits. Sometimes Iams. However with the warmer weather I have been giving them less wet and more biscuits (with plenty of water). So, can anyone r...

Re: cat urinating in various places indoors, never did befor
We had this with one of our cats; she started weeing in the house when before she had been going outside. (Assuming your cat has access outside?). I set up a new litter tray in a quiet part of the house (utility room) and touch wood that seemed to do the trick. I think in my cat's case she was feeli...

Thank you for your suggestions. I don't know why I didn't think of a bell! One of the cats wont wear a collar, but I'll try and give it another go. 2 new bells ordered too!

Re: Advice on cat harnesses and leads for an indoor cat.
I bought a cat harness for my cats when they first started going outside, and they absolutely hated it. There was no way either of them were going to let me put it on them! Good luck!

Catching mice & birds
I know that it is normal behaviour for cats, but is there anything I can/should do to stop my cats doing this? My 2 cats, (male & female) both coming up to 2 years old , have both just discovered the joys of the garden. Previously they just caught flies, but the past few weeks they have started ...

Re: Ultimate cat toy suggestions?
Nerf gun bullets! Nerf guns are toy guns that my kids have. The bullets are made of polystyrene and so are very light. The cats loving finding these and carrying around the house, or batting them around. The bullets are cylindrical in shape, a bit like a fat cigarette. You buy them in packs from toy...

Re: Roughly how much do you think it costs to 'keep' a cat .
Hi Meriad I'm a bit of a bargain shopper! Once a month I use Advantage 40 flea prevention treatment which I order online. Costs apx £9-10 from Animed or Medicanimal (free postage). Box contains 4 vials so for 2 cats that lasts 2 months. Then once every 3-4 months I give them a Panacur Granules which...

Re: Roughly how much do you think it costs to 'keep' a cat .
Cats don't have to cost that much. I think I spend about £60 a month for 2 cats : 2 bags cat litter (sainsburys budget brand or Coshida from Lidl) £4 1 bag Iams £10 8 boxes of whiskas or felix poches, whatever is on special offer 8 x £3 = £24 few tins of cat food £2 insurance 2 x £6 = £12 flea and w...
