Re: Mammary cancer

I've spoken to vet who did original surgery and she doesn't feel there's any need for more surgery at this point. The lumps were tiny as I spotted them early so hopefully they won't come back. I'll just have to keep a close eye on her. Not sure what the average age is for mammary cancer? I seem to b...

Re: Mammary cancer

Hi. She's about 7 ish. She's a rescue cat so not 100% sure. No they just removed the lump and surrounding tissue and histology report said they had removed it with narrow margins with no evidence it had spread. I'm thinking about maybe getting her xrayed before putting her through another op.

Mammary cancer

Hi folks. Not been on for a while. Just wondered has anyway had any experience with mammary cancer? Getting different advice every time I go to the vets. My cat had two lumps removed two months ago and at the time I was told to just monitor and take her for monthly health checks with the nurse. This...

Re: Animal Friends insurance

I had a bit of trouble getting them to pay out for treatment Puzzle had for her oral cancer as they said it was classed as dental treatment. My vets sorted it out for me by sending them a letter and they paid out soon after. Didn't get much though as i didn't realise they would knock so much off bec...

Hi there

Cats do that when they are in heat. Is your cat spayed?

Re: 3 weeks on and I'm still so upset

Hi Heather I'm so sorry for your loss. I was still in pieces after three weeks after having my old lady pts and i still have a weep every night cos i miss her so much. She now sits on my bookcase in a lovely urn with a photo next to it. I had her 5 and a half years after she was abandoned outside my...

Re: MY CAT IS BITING HER FEET RED RAW

Have you tried mixing the tablet with some lick-e-lix?. I used to crush the tablets my poorly girl had and mix them in and she wolfed it down. Not all cats seem to like it, but its worth a try. Good luck.

Re: Kittens in da house!

Aww so cute. I would love to foster but I ended up keeping two of them the first and only time i've done it. Found a home for one of their litter mates but it was sooo hard to let her go. My girls are one now. Had them since they were about 8 weeks old.

Re: Did i do the right thing?

Thats what i tried saying that its only been three weeks and she was with me every day for the last 5 1/2 years. I think its more that I had to get her put to sleep that's upsetting me more and that she was ill for weeks before. If she'd died in her sleep of old age it would be alot easier i think. ...

Re: Did i do the right thing?

Hello all Has anyone else ever had a family member tell them to get over it and she was just a cat. My dad really upset me saying this today, didn't expect it to come from him. Is there something wrong with me still being upset three weeks later. He also commented that i was more upset over Puz than...

Re: Did i do the right thing?

Thank you all. I'm so glad I joined this forum Its getting a bit better each day. I know deep down i did the right thing. It just feels so quiet without her, she was the most vocal of all my girls. I got a lovely card from the vets today so that set me off again, but it was very nice of them. I've a...

Re: Did i do the right thing?

Lilith I'm so sorry the vet was like that with you. They should understand that we want our babies to feel our touch as they go. You didn't let him down, at least you were still there at the end. Puz was 16 and I know she wouldn't have had long left even without the cancer but its soo hard to say go...

Re: Did i do the right thing?

Thank you for your kind words. I just wish I didn't keep replaying the last few minutes in my head. I wish i'd held her differently, but i didn't realise she'd go so quick. The vet was lovely though and said i'd done all i could for, just doesn't feel that way at the moment :( My other cats have bee...

Did i do the right thing?

Hello all I had to have my baby Puzzle put to sleep on Sunday. She had oral cancer and wasn't responding the medication she'd been on for the last 6 week so the tumour was growing. I just can't help feeling I gave up on her too soon. I just didn't want her to suffer as she was struggling to eat and ...
