Re: Warm weather and eating.

Yep. Normally both Sox and Tiger would eat till they popped if given the chance, so every now and then I throw a chick in with their food to give them bones to crunch. Last night Tiger was quite happily chewing on his chick after eating his food but Sox just pawed at his and left it. So Tiger ended ...

Re: Best Way To Discipline?

What you want, if you can get there, is for you to be able to spot him about to transgress and a firm 'NO' to stop him doing it .... whatever it is! Good luck. :D That's easier said than done a lot of the time  He fails to give warning most of the time, very occasionally we can catch him and t...

I thought it might have to come to that. Well, if that's what it takes then that's what will have to happen.

Re: Best Way To Discipline?

We have so many ex-strays that are master cat burglars (yes Daz, I mean you!)that we've had to enforce firm rules. In his first year Daz ate the meat off our pepperoni pizza, stole several sausages from neighbours' barbeques (and one out of the frying pan when OH turned his back), broke into the ca...

Best Way To Discipline?

So I've hit a speed bump in the discipline form... Tiger can be quite the naughty cat when he chooses to, the problem is some of his naughty behaviour is stuff that needs to be stopped immediately or, in his mind, he gets away with it. For example- Stealing food off plates. Only the other night me a...

Sounds more like he's drinking the water off his paws :) My boys do it with running taps, dip their paw under and then lick the water off.

   Purdy sometimes sleeps on OH's head. He says it makes him feel like he is wearing a Davy Crocket hat - complete with tail! I'm not kidding it's ridiculous. For a short haired cat he's got a lot of fur! Sometimes he sleeps around the top of my head, but sometimes he just plops hims...

Re: Do you ever have one of those days....

Oh I've had these days... Not so bad, I'm thankful for that, but bad... Tiger is my "problem" cat at times. Luckily not all in one day(some overlap but not all) he's managed to: 1. Vomit everywhere(seen by vet for this, now sorted). 2. Pee over the edge of the litter tray and on the floor,...

I'm glad it's cleared up. I have a serial pottery chipper too, but I also have an endless supply of pretty bowls so just chuck 'em. :) Tiger is ridiculous. He's only chipped one but that's because I never bought him another as he swallowed some of the chipped pieces... I didn't want to risk anythin...

Crewella: His has cleared up again already. It never seems to last very long, it's been four days since it started showing again and now it's almost gone again. As for ceramic bowls, Tiger chips them. He uses the edge of the bowl to scoop food into his mouth and in the process he badly scrapes up pl...

Feline Acne...

I seem to have a cat with a slight predisposition to feline acne... I'm assuming this is entirely possible and it's something I'll just have to deal with? Tiger has had feline acne twice in the past year, which might not seem like much but compared to my other cat Sox who has never had it- It's a lo...

My two boys get quite anxious around thunder as well... The last bout of thunder and lightening we had I ended up cuddling both of them under the quilts on the bed. They aren't too bothered by fireworks, but thunder and lightening gets them. Albeit not as bad as some cats, they don't dart for cover ...

Randall : I find clumps of Sox's fur on the floor sometimes after they've chased. And yes, I've lost a mirror to Tiger through his rampaging... Re: Can anyone explain this?

Personally, I think they're getting on pretty well and you're possibly reading too much into what sounds like boisterous play. I have five cats that mix in the house at the moment, and the biggest (and youngest) is Daz, who likes to chase the others now and again. For a while I was really worried a...

In our house it is known as 'the Zoomies'. They all do it, but Purdy is the one that does it most often. *I apologise for the following essay!!!* I've run into a bit of a problem with my two lovelies... Sox is my 8 year old black & white tuxedo moggy, Tiger is my tabby moggy who is 4 years old in October. Tiger used to be quite an independent cat, he wasn't much for fuss and would never come and la...

Thank you all so much for your kind comments, Mrs Kane that poem was beautiful and it fits so well!

Some very, very sad news....

I had some very sad news this morning. As some of you will know, earlier this year I fostered a very young female cat, she was a feral who had been trapped and was pregnant at only 10 months old. By vets orders for her own safety her pregnancy was terminated. She came to me as a very scared young ca...
