Operation on Monday on teeth

My 18 month old maine coon mix last night went into next door neighbours cat flat, it locked behind him and he got stuck. Furball Max panicked of course and fought his way back out, damaging his small bottom front teeth as he went. So 5 little teeth, instead of sitting upwards, are sitting flat in h...

Re: Congestive Heart Failure

Milo still going strong so far, touch wood! Had his check up today and his fluid is stable, weight is up a fraction. But he tolerates his meds (2 pills in the morning, 3 at night) very well, such a good boy. Looking at him you wouldn't know anything is wrong - he eats (lots!) mooches about, sleeps (...

Re: Congestive Heart Failure

Hi, thanks for your replies. Milo is doing okay, thankfully he is taking his meds very well. Twice a day, two pills. He is still speaking to me so far even though I know he doesn't enjoy the taking pills bit but has been very tolerant. Vet at the weekend said he had lost almost a kilogram in weight ...

Congestive Heart Failure

Our 8 year old boy has just been diagnosed with congestive heart failure today, aged 8. We are in shock just now. Vet has given us medication, one diuretic (he has fluid in his tummy - which prompted the vet visit in the first place) and one to help his heart beat. Has anyone been in this situation?...

Re: Fluid in tummy

Well, our boy has congestive heart failure - not what I was expecting at all, and pretty devistated. he is on medication now and we will see how that goes. Am going to start a new thread to see if anyone has been in the same situation. Two lots of pills twice a day, but one is to take the fluid away...

Re: Fluid in tummy

Thank you for your reply! You will know what we are going through - glad you had a great outcome, I have fingers and toes crossed for our Milo. He was out this morning "helping" our one year old Maine Coon with a mouse, so he is still so interested in life. I am just hoping for an outcome ...

Re: Fluid in tummy

Hi, thanks for reply.

It's a diagnostic ultrasound he's having. Vet has said it will pinpoint what may be inside his tummy, but not what it is and that he may need exploratory surgery as the next step. Taking it one step at a time just now and just about holding it together!

Fluid in tummy

Hi, I am posting to see if anyone else has had a similar situation with a loved furry friend. My 8 year old neutered boy with no history of any health problems has over the last few weeks developed a larger than normal tummy. He was usually quite lean and fit looking. Blood tests show all to be norm...
