Re: How do we cope?

Hi Hannah, I am so glad to hear that you are now coping much better after losing Jasper. I am also really pleased that you have felt able to start fostering. I have been fostering for 5-6 years now, and first met my beautiful Angel as a foster (we had 5 lovely years together before she passed away)....

Re: DREADFUL GUILT AND LOSS AFTER EUTHANASING MY 17 YEAR OLD

Hello KBCats, I am so sorry to hear about your sad loss. When you have loved a cat that is not just your own, but one that has been entrusted to you from a family member, then it is very hard. From personal experience, I felt like the worst person ever when I had to take my Grandpa's cat Lucky to be...

Not perfect cats... but perfect for us :-)

My friend posted a link to this article today, which I read with more than a twinge of sadness! http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/sep/10/nigel-was-a-mean-spiteful-cat?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Facebook It made me think of my dear Angel, who I lost last month. Angel was never violent or mean, ...

Re: Temporary foster home needed for 3 months

Hello, have you had any luck with finding a temporary fosterer?
If I didn't live so far away, I would have gladly helped :-(

Re: 3 weeks on and I'm still so upset

Aww nannymcfee, thank yuo for taking such good care of Luca in his final months! I looked after one of our charity's foster cats last year, just for a weekend, who was called Luca too - he looked very similar to your boy, but he had no voice as his vocal cords were cut in an operation to remove a tu...

Re: Getting another cat???? Rescue or kitten?

Hello :-) My advice would be, to try your hand at fostering cats if you possibly can? If your foster cat gets on well with everyone then you can look at adopting it. If there is too much friction between the cats, then you can look after it until it finds its forever home. When I started fostering I...

Re: Looking for thoughts about the loss of Freddie

I am so sorry to hear about your loss, Flowercats. I lost my beloved Angel nearly 4 weeks ago, and like with Freddie, she was totally fine in every way before she passed away, except that her behaviour had become a little "odd". When I took her to the vets again the week after she had been...

Re: too many losses

I am so sorry to hear about this, 8lives :-( But Crewella is right; you are saving so many kitties from certain death, and miserable lives where they are ill or malnourished, you should be proud of yourself and take comfort in the number you do help. I hope that the next sets of news you hear about ...

Re: 3 weeks on and I'm still so upset

Thank you so much, Grace and Crewella, for your kind words! It's funny how your furkids get right into your heart, isn't it? We speak the same language, in spite of it being non-verbal, and we give our homes and care to them in exchange for so much happiness. My friends and family have been very und...

Re: 3 weeks on and I'm still so upset

Aww Nicola... how sweet of you to take in your old lady! You had her for around the same length of time that I had Angel, too. I am so sorry that she is no longer with you :-( My remaining own cat, Bela, has became super-cuddly since Angel died, which is helping a lot, and my new foster seems quite ...

Re: 3 weeks on and I'm still so upset

Oh Dawn, I am so sorry to hear about your little Tush Tush - taking him in and giving him a home after a hard life as a stray is so lovely, and he must have been very grateful to you fo being there for him all those years. Like you, I had to take my time to start cleaning after she had left me. My o...

3 weeks on and I'm still so upset

Hi everyone, I had to say goodbye to my beloved cat Angel 3 weeks ago, and it still hurts so much - I feel as though I should be starting to pull myself together by now and I can't. She was my third foster and she was so badly injured when she came into my care, I realised once she had returned to h...
