Re: Suggestions gratefully received re getting urine sample
The only thing I found worked with my cat was to have a small tub/saucer to place underneath when he crouched....let them start peeing as they are less likely to stop once they've started. Also, a mid-stream sample is better for the vet anyway. He looked a bit confused and you run the risk of gettin...

Re: Why does it not get easier
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, please don't beat yourself up at all about how you're feeling. We lost our first cat in May 2013, it broke our hearts and it still hurts now 2.5 years later. We've recently lost 2 other cats within a couple of weeks of each other. All of them were relatively young ...

Re: Struggling with grief
Hi, yesterday was also my first day back at work. I didn't have a great day, every time I was asked how I was or what happened, I just started to cry. I tried to keep my head down and avoid people as much as possible but then met my cat loving friend for lunch and we both had a cry. I found that hel...

Nothing can prepare you for the sudden loss....I thought making the decision to have my baby boy put to sleep was bad enough, but at least I had time to be with him and say goodbye and tell...

Struggling with grief
Hi A couple of weeks ago I posted a thread about my FIV+ boy with possible renal failure. Unfortunately, it turned out that he had a massive kidney tumour that was growing at an alarming rate. A few days after I posted, on the 14th September, we made the really difficult decision to have him put to ...

Re: FIV+ Cat with possible renal failure
Thanks for replying Sue Unfortunately the news tonight isn't great, his kidney is so large now that the vet is almost certain we're dealing with a tumour. We've agreed to continue with palliative care to make sure he's comfortable but we don't think he'll be with us much longer. His kidney seems to ...

FIV+ Cat with possible renal failure
Hi, I'm new to this forum but I'm hoping to get some advice please....apologies this is quite a lengthy story. We adopted Ralph in June 2013, he is FIV+. In June this year we noticed that he wasn't quite himself, so we took him to the vets where he was diagnosed as having gingivitis. He was prescrib...
