Re: Our beloved Ernie got killed on the road.

Thank you all again and hello Mayday21, sorry also for your loss, i think sometimes it's harfder to lose a pet because unlike losing a human in your life, which everyone else 'gets' with a pet there are few who do understand. Ernie truly was the happiest kitty i've ever known, he'd run at you with h...

Re: Our beloved Ernie got killed on the road.

Thank you both for your kind words and i'm sorry for your losses. I'll check that book out Cassie, i'm stunned that you registered just to reply to me, thank you. EDIT; I just found it on Amazon for the Kindle! I feel like i've done nothing but cry since we found him, today I got the hoover out and ...

Our beloved Ernie got killed on the road.

Ernie didn't come home all day on Wednesday, so we drove around looking for him yesterday morning and found him dead by the roadside, barely 3 weeks before his 2nd birthday. I can't bear the thought that our sweet, gentle baby boy may have died a horrible slow painful death and it's eating me up. Hi...

Oh, we also got a steam mop!

Anyone out there use Stronghold rather than Frontline?

Re: Garlic Pills for repelling fleas. Advice pls

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Firstly, both kitties have been treated religiously every 4 weeks with Frontline combo. We've sprayed all the carpets/furnishings in the house with Staykil plus spray (and again at intervals with another aerosol) I washed their bed and put it away. Removed their toys. Chang...

Garlic Pills for repelling fleas. Advice pls

I'm having real trouble getting rid of the fleas on my two longhairs.
Has anyone tried Garlic tablets? If so, do they make any difference?

I'm at my wits end and sick of the sound of the vacuum cleaner and washing machine now lol

Re: Giving medicine

Have you asked the vet about Milbemax worming tablets? They have a 'tasty' coating, my two just eat them like they're getting a treat! It's quite amazing really, this wasn't available when we had our previous boy and it was a nightmare getting pills of any kind in to him. I was very pleasantly surpr...

Re: Cat hates my new rug!

I'd persevere. Cats will generally get used to just about anything eventually. We put tinfoil down by the front door when our 2 were babies because one of them took to pooping on the carpet. It was only a deterrent for a short time, after theat they took to jumping on it and clawing it up..... one e...

Re: Happy house cats battling in garden

Would it be possible to have Elsie outside first and keep her otherwise occupied with toys/treats etc. whilst Ziggy ventures out unnoticed?
It may be easier than trying to distract her from scratch when Ziggy's already outside and she's making a bee line for him??

Re: Happy house cats battling in garden

Hi there, I think the distracting technique someone mentioned earlier might work. I don't know if anyone here watches 'My cat from hell' on TV but it's that kind of thing the guy suggests when one cat attacks another indoors, so I would think it should translate to the outdoors too. Sooner or later ...

Re: Flea bites!

Hi there, Newbie here, I was just wading around familiarising myself with the place when I came upon this post. I have 2 8month old boys who were infested with fleas when they came to me :( I've just managed to get 99% flea free using a 3 pronged attack method; 1. Treat the boys 2. Steam mop all the...
