Re: Alice
One never knows what is around the corner. I vowed once my beloved Alice died last year, that i would never get another cat. A few months ago a feral cat starting coming for food. She stayed + had 2 kittens. Thanks to help of a wonderful local group, Galway Cat Rescue, they have been neutered/spayed...

Re: The hurt is unbearable
I am sure a great comfort for your cat that you were with her at end. The pain and emptiness is terrible, but all you can do is think of good memories and it will gradually ease.

Re: Traumatic and sudden loss.
Safjas, My thoughts are with you - My cat aged 9, died almost identically last October. I live alone too mostly and it is very hard. You can assure yourself your cat felt loved. I have a print collage of 3 photos of my cat beside by bed and it works well in terms of keeping memory of cat alive. Be g...

kris,
I don't have other animals and almost got a replacement cat recently, but time wasn't right. I agree with Wanda that you can't rush it.
Take care,
Jamsie

Re: What to do when your animals are all you have?
Hi Kris 35 I understand what you're going through. I live on my own and lost my pet cat Alice last October. I felt i was doing a good job caring for her and she was certainly a constant and gave great security. The only advise I can give you, is take each day at a time and think each day that you're...

Re: Very Sudden Passing
This is a lovely forum, where people understand what you are going through. I lost my cat in October aged 9 and can relate to feeling of shock and being cheated. Remember it wasn't your fault and from picture you paint, your cat sounded very happy. Take care of yourself.

Re: Miss him so much
I had exactly same experience last October. There is no easy way to deal with it, just to gradually try and accept and surround yourseld with good memories and thoughts that you gave cat a great life

Re: Does it get any easier?
My cat only died in late October and I totally empathize with you. I found mornings and evenings too very difficult. One thing I did was scan a few photos and put together and got framed. I look at these every day and its a nice comfort. It gets slowly better. Think of the good memories.

Re: Issues surrounding losing a cat.
Hi Barry, Since i posted a few weeks back on my cat Alice's passing, I have learned from the commonality of experiences. It is comforting. Since my cat's passing, I have learned how complex our cats bonds with us can be. I still terribly miss my cat, but talk to her daily and keep her bed still in i...

Re: Alice
Thanks for all the kind words - it's also re-assuring to know my experience not unique either. Still finding it very raw and house feels especially empty coming back in or in early morning. Friends etc great, but feeling it hard to keep on talking about Alice to them. Still wishing i could have save...

Alice
I lost my wonderful Alice aged 9 suddenly on Sunday. She was the most lovable tabby and we had wonderful years together. She slept on my bed each evening and entwined her paw around my fingers. I very aggressive tom cat came to live near recently and I had to keep Alice in then and change her routin...
