Re: Chemotherapy for GI lymphoma
Dear all I just wanted to post to say that our beloved darling Pumpkin has sadly lost her extremely brave fight against lymphoma and to thank you all for your posts earlier in the Summer. She had x 4 different chemo regimes (COP, Epirubicin, DMAC and Lomustine). The only one that showed any sign of ...

Re: Chemotherapy for GI lymphoma
Pumpkin does indeed sadly have GI lymphoma. She has undergone her first chemo session today at the specialist vet hospital. She is due to have x 4 weekly chemo injections and then a break of 3 weeks before having a scan. If the cancer is in remission or partial remission they will continue every 3 w...

Chemotherapy for GI lymphoma
Hi all We are awaiting results from an ultrasound guided fine needle aspirate on our 14 year old diabetic girl, Pumpkin, in the next couple of days. The vet has advised tonight that this may be GI lymphoma. If this is confirmed (and I am praying and hoping it is not) he has advised she may be able t...

Re: Our diabetic cat is licking her litter.
Many thanks all. Our Pumpkin has spent the weekend at the emergency vets (was indeed found to be anaemic) and has now spent the day at a specialist referral centre about 25 miles from us. They have done an ultrasound and she unfortunately has suspected GI lymphoma. We are waiting aspirate results an...

Our diabetic cat is licking her litter.
Can anyone offer advice please? Our 14 year old diabetic girl has started licking her cat litter. She has been a little quiet for the last couple of days but we had out this down to the heat as she has very thick long haired fur. We are going to make an appointment to see the vet tomorrow but any ad...

Re: Diabetes advice
Pumpkin saw the vet last night. He has dipped her urine again and it is now ++.5 instead of +++. He has upped her insulin to 2.5 units twice daily and is going to see her again at the end of next week. She has lost 0.1 kg of weight but is otherwise OK.

Re: Diabetes advice
Thanks for all your advice Sarah. Pumpkin is not on Glargine (I know humans have that). She is on Caninsulin - is Glargine better? She has not had a glucose curve yet as only diagnosed last week. The vet is talking of doing one soon. He mentioned Fructosamine as I asked about HbA1c testing (the huma...

Diabetes advice
Hi all My cat, Pumpkin, who is 14 years of age, has just been diagnosed with diabetes. We are injecting her twice a day with 2 units of Caninsulin (tutored by our vet), which is quite nerve wracking. Our vet has said a special diet may help but a lot of cats will not eat this so best to stay on her ...

Re: Please help - cat with respiratory distress at our vet
Dear all Thank you for all your replies. Just to let you know that after much searching we have found a really good vet (a little way away, but Pumpkin not too bad at travelling in her carrier). He was happy to have us in the consulting room whilst the bloods were taken (although the nurse held her,...

Re: Please help - cat with respiratory distress at our vet
Many thanks for all of your helpful replies and knowledge. Pumpkin is a little better now and was enthusiastically tucking into salmon at the weekend! I am struggling to find recommendation of a good vet that is near where we live, which is Walsall/Wednesbury in the West Midlands. Any advice in rega...

Please help - cat with respiratory distress at our vet
Dear all Could anyone offer any advice please? We took our Tortie, Pumpkin, to the vet last night as we have been concerned she is drinking more (she is fine in every other way). She has visited the vets for her boosters every year and for check-ups (never seen this vet or nurse though) and has been...
