Re: We said never again but now!

I'm so sorry you lost Milo so suddenly, but, as you say, when you know the end is so close, better to let them go a bit early then keep them hanging on and wondering if they are in pain or suffering. Sometimes no matter what you may have thought before hand, you know you need another cat. I'm a bit...

Re: We said never again but now!

Funnily enough we are in the south west/wales. We have got most of our cats from Bristol and Wales cat rescue. Milo and Jess came from the team in Aberdare and my little Princess Pebbles came from Bristol.

We said never again but now!

Yesterday we lost our 13 year old Milo. It has been a huge kick in the stomach for my wife, 2 kids and me. We have 2 other cats as well who are equally feeling the loss. We knew Milo probably didn't have many years left as he had lost lots of weight and we would have to sit with him as he wasn't fus...

Re: New kitten today

We aren’t doing badly she’s very happy in her room. She’s met 2 of ours but my princess Pebbles hasn’t actually been to meet her. But so far Jess is doing well and she loves the kids she feels they are there purely for her to command fusses and attention off!!

New female cat and introducing advice please?

Tomorrow we are off to meet Gwen. She is 18 months old and completely ginger. My wife doesn't know we are going to meet her tomorrow as its a surprise. We lost our 21 year old Ginger Female cat Cuddles in August and I said we have Pebbles and Milo we wouldn't be getting any more cats. However I saw ...

Re: Cat isn't eating like normal I don't think

I gave Pebbles Loxicam too last night I think I will be giving her another dose this evening. I always have metcam/loxicam at home for such an event. We also have 8 bunnies so metacam is our guiding light sometimes for those lot. Today Pebbles is staying inside curled up in her bed so hopefully she ...

Re: Cat isn't eating like normal I don't think

I took Pebbles to the vet last night and the vet thinks she has got herself in a fight and has had a bite which has got infected. So she has given her a long lasting antibiotic injection. The vet said if she isn't completely better by Thursday to take her back. How long normally does it take for ant...

Re: Cat isn't eating like normal I don't think

I wondered that yesterday, but off she went striding outside this morning. She plays in a nature reserve over the road from us where people hang around so I wonder if she has not come back through the bushes and got scared by the people. Either way she is purring away and washing me and her so hopef...

Re: Cat isn't eating like normal I don't think

That's brilliant as we speak she is snoozing in the baby's cot the baby hasn't gone in there yet. But tonight Pebbles has to come out of the cot as our son needs his bed! I plugged in a Feliway this morning then started smelling burning from the diffuser so will get a new one and plug it in. Feeling...

Puppy and 2 cats how to introduce

We are having a puppy move in with us a week on Friday which whilst is really exciting is also nervous because of my cats. Pebbles is 3 and Milo is 6. We have gone for a puppy and the puppy is a lot smaller than both Pebbles or Milo this was done deliberately as I didn't want Pebbles or Milo feeling...

Re: Mother in law staying and our eldest wont cat won't eat

Today the MIL has gone home thank god. Cuddles is feeling a lot better she has eat 4 mini cans of food today so I think she is feeling a lot happier. Which is a relief as judging by the news today she is one of the oldest cats in the world at 21! lol.

Re: Mother in law staying and our eldest wont cat won't eat

She is going strong the vet diagnosed a bit of kidney failure but that hasn't worried her so I think that's caused old age so she is on renal food. I'm off to buy a new feliway fuser as our fuse just snapped (very strange burning smell from it). I will stop via Tesco and get some tuna on the way hom...

Re: Thryoid problem and teeth problem in our 21 year old cat

This morning Cuddles has woken up as if nothing has happened! She was very impressed to have ham so early (with her pain killer and anti biotic on it) so hopefully she will have her tablets etc with no problems. We get results of bloods back today but as far as we are concerned what ever they say wo...

Cuddles is on Antirobe as we speak for her teeth so that is reassuring to feel others have had good results with it. :-)

Re: Thryoid problem and teeth problem in our 21 year old cat

That has given us hope as we were a bit concerned this morning the end was nigh for Cuddles. However after speaking to the vet and on here the teeth would be nice to have done but antibiotics etc will keep them at bay. The main concern seems to be to get the Thyroid problem sorted then hopefully we ...

Thryoid problem and teeth problem in our 21 year old cat

Today our Cuddles had to go to the vets as she came in from her morning ritual off going outside before breakfast with a tooth bleeding. We knew her teeth aren't great but she is quite old to put through a dental. We took her to the vets and they have said either a lump of tartar fell off or she may...
