Re: Urgent new home needed 2 cats Birkenhead Merseyside
What a very sad situation you find yourself in. I appreciate what you say but is there no way that your parents would accept your cats? Are they aware you have had them since they were six weeks old and re-homing them would cause you a lot of distress? As a parent myself who has taken on two cats th...

Re: Putting my cat to sleep TOMORROW - worried it's not right
Again I am in tears reading this. What a beautiful girl she looked. Sometimes when our pets are ill we want to keep them for a bit longer for us and not for them so making the decision to let Buffy go was very brave indeed. You will want her back, that is only natural, but you did the right thing as...

Re: Putting my cat to sleep TOMORROW - worried it's not right
After reading this I have tears in my eyes which is not good as I am at work. Poor poor Buffy :( I know exactly what you mean by saying the light in her eyes is still there as I too had to make a similar decision with two of my much loved cats over the past few years. God bless Buffy and yourself too.

Re: Lost my beautiful best friend
Very sorry to hear of this sad loss. On 28th December 2004 at about 4.50pm our beautiful Tabby boy Harry nipped out of our front door when I opened it to let someone in. A knock at my door just after 5pm from a neighbour asking if I have a cat made me feel physically sick. I prayed he had maybe frac...

Re: Rescuing a cat a time
Have a look at the attached link which contains very useful advice : http://www.catchat.org/index.php/cat-missing-lost-found I would be inclined not to adopt another cat just yet. Six weeks is not that long for a cat to be missing given that some re-appear after having been missing for much longer.

Re: rehoming required
Oh dear this is very difficult for all concerned. The poor cat must be wondering what has happened to his owner and you are desperately trying to find a home for him to no avail. It is very poor that some of the places you have phoned have told you to have the poor boy euthanised. He has done nothin...

What a shame that you have to rehome your girl, especially after you have had her for so long.
I do hope that you can find her a suitable new home, possibly the one in Bedford that Crewella has found

Re: Very soft stools
There is meat content and meat content. It may be the same amount but it is what is also in there that needs to be taken into account. This thread is about a cat having an upset tummy and I don't feel your comments starting with "Actually" and "I disagree" are that helpful, hence...

Re: Very soft stools
Actually Sheba and Whiskas both have the same minimum 4% meat content. That may be the case but Sheba is a higher quality product than Whiskas or Go Cat. I disagree, as it has the same meat content, but its seen as a gourmet product and therefore costs more. Applaws is a higher quality product. Act...

Re: Very soft stools
I would think that the Sheba was too rich for him because it has a much higher meat content than Whiskas and Go Cat. One of mine cannot eat Applaws because of its high meat content - it gives him the squits! Try half a pouch with some biscuits and see how that goes. Actually Sheba and Whiskas both ...

Re: Feral cat - give her a home?
I belong to a group who rescues strays in Cairo where people just put their unwanted cats out on the street as though there is a "Cat Fairy" who will magically care for them. Of course we all know that is not the case and there are so many of these poor cats and of course kittens who are i...

Re: Rehomed cat very stressed and unhappy
Totally agree this poor chap doesn't know who he is or what he is doing or where he is going. He was let out far too soon and yes I also agree that they need to start again and keep in him for a good 4 weeks or more. That way he will know that this place is safe and no harm will come to him. Then an...

Re: A diet for a sensitive stomach
I should mention that often vets receive a proportion of money from "recommended" foods such as Royal Canin Vet foods purchased from the practice, I have read reviews too of this food which again can be too rich for some cats. It is really a process of elimination (no pun intended!)

Re: A diet for a sensitive stomach
Arden Grange is very good for cats that have sensitive stomachs. One of my boys had awful issues when I fed him Applaws. The meat content is very high and it was just too rich for him. I now give him Arden Grange, either the sensitive one or the ordinary chicken one and there have been no more incid...

Following one of my cats not coming home one evening and returning the next morning having clearly had something happen to him I kept him in all the time for two months. At first he was unimpressed but he soon got used to it. If you are hoping to re-locate in the near future then could you keep your...
