You are right, Ruth B, there is nothing that can prepare you for this day 😔

I can only pray that she is happy and at peace 🧡

Re: Rest in Peace, Gabby

Tysm fjm,

I'm imagining her being reunited with her sister, Xena and that they're both running around, enjoying Heaven together.

She was my everything...🧡🧡

Rest in Peace, Gabby

I lost my dearest and bestest friend in the entire world this morning. My darling furbaby was 25 years old.

I can't believe she's gone 😞

Haha!

Yeah, Gabby looks for the cool spots in the house too, but she doesnt stay in one spot for long though, constantly moving around the house.

Honestly, Gabby is just totally fed up now. It was so very hot today, can't wait for this heat to subside.

Gabby is hating all this heat! (UK)

She's long haired so this heat is literally driving her nuts! She's not eating during the day (tbh, I dont feel like eating in this heat either!) but she is drinking water. I sit her next to the fan to try and cool her down but she's just so fed up, bless her. The evenings however are much cooler an...

Re: 59.3% protein in green lipped mussel powder. Suitable for senior cats?

The YuMove supplements for cats are formulated to be low in phosphorus, so may be a better choice if your vet considers the phosphorus levels in the GLM powder too high. After reading this last night, my first task today was to go the vets. I'm so glad I did as what you wrote, is what happened. The...

Re: 59.3% protein in green lipped mussel powder. Suitable for senior cats?

Hi Jan! I actually went to the vets today to see if I could grab a quick chat with them, as I wanted to be sure I was doing the right thing by giving just green lipped mussel powder (its been bugging me and my conscience wasn't letting me relax!) As I walked in, the vet who sees Gabby was standing a...

59.3% protein in green lipped mussel powder. Suitable for senior cats?

Ive just purchased some green lipped mussel powder for Gabby as she has begun showing signs of arthritis in her hind leg but also has k.disease, and after reading numerous posts and links here felt she would benefit, but when I read the ingredients it said "59.3% raw protein". Are we not s...

Well, now her blood results are back (see my other post from yesterday), it seems the little "treats" my dad would give her haven't done her any major harm, soooooo...I think a little bit of chicken or fish here and there should be fine! :D

Re: Blood results back for my senior fur baby with k.disease

Hey that's ok about questions; that's what the forum's here for :) I don't know about phosphates but I've used mussel powder for Emily who has ckd, and really I've never noticed very loose motions with any of these products - but all cats are different of course. Other people on here will know more...

Re: Blood results back for my senior fur baby with k.disease

A lot to ponder! Thank you so much for your help, guys. At the moment I'm leaning towards the mussel powder. This UK heatwave is a nightmare isnt it! Gabby is long haired and the heat is really getting to her. I think I panicked myself more by thinking her being lethargic is due to illness...when in...

Re: Blood results back for my senior fur baby with k.disease

So these tablets are suitable for cats with k.disease? What are the phosphate levels like in them? I read the link you gave and i'm a bit concerned that they can cause loose motions. I went to Pets at Home but they only had Yumove for dogs. Gabby eas wet amd dry mixed. Should I just go for the musse...

Blood results back for my senior fur baby with k.disease

Vet just called. All is going well thank goodness, such a relief! Gabby's Kidneys are stable and everything else is good too. So, it means the routine I have going with her is working and I was just freaking out for nothing last night...omg...all that googling led to a major headache! Started conjur...

Thanks so much for the replies.

I do agree that as she is settled on the Hills, I shouldn't add anything more to it.

I'm intrigued with the cream cheese though...like...Philidelphia cream cheese?

Hello folks! Checking back in after a year or so! Gabby's doing well, thank God. She's on Hills Prescription diet h/d and eats with no issues. Went to the vets today for a check up as I noticed she was limping last night and has been a bit wobbly on her hind legs. Turns out she has arthritis, bless ...

Re: How to soften up dry food?

Thank you for your replies, I really appreciate your help. I shall try soaking the dry food for a bit longer. Although starting well on wet renal food, Gabby isn't as keen now, so eating the dry is a relief, I was just worried it may be hurting her gums as watching her, she sometimes puts the pellet...

How to soften up dry food?

Hi everyone, Hoping you and your adorable balls of fluff are all fine. I was looking for some help for softening up dry renal food. Amazingly Gabby is eating the Hill's Prescription Diet k/d dry food. It's just the right size for her but, it seems to be too hard for her to break up. She had a dental...
