Re: Perineal urethrostomy- straining to pee post op

Another mad dash to vets this morning. Coco pooped then kept straining with blood. Vet not concerned as he is eating, pooing & emptying bladder. Got to ride it out unless he doesn't do big wees. Waiting for results for high calcium. Vet wants to start treating that before they decide whether to ...

Re: Urinary issues. At a lost, not sure what else to do.

Bless you both. I'm going through something similar after cocos PU surgery. My vet thinks it's stones in bladder causing it. It's so distressing for you both. Does he empty his bladder normally too? Only other thing to do is either get 2nd opinion or ask vet to refer you to a specialist. Big hugs al...

I've used it twice: once to settle coco after 3 week stay at cat hotel and after his recent surgery. Appears to work, but difficult to be sure.

Re: Perineal urethrostomy- straining to pee post op

Re: Sub Q

I've tried the juice from tuna in spring water & it enticed coco to take his meds & eat. He's not got kidney problems though, recovering from PU surgery. Can your vet suggest something? I tried syringe with coco & was a nightmare he chucked up! Hope you can entice him to eat. Sending you...

Thank you praying it's something they can sort out. My poor boy has really been through it. House so quiet without him. Another restless night ahead.

Perineal urethrostomy- straining to pee post op

Coco had to have perineal urethrostomy before Christmas. Vet couldn't get to crystal, original cause of blockage. Highs & lots of lows over past two weeks and thought we were on way till stitches out & cone off on Tuesday. Last night he pooped then all agitated peeing everywhere which contai...
