Re: Pancreatitis stories/information

Pancreatitis gives belly ache and fever too, soft stools or diarrhea. IBD might give similar symptoms, but generally a cat throws up and/or has soft or runny poop. As I told you, only a specific test can tell you if it's pancreatitis. Meanwhile you should focus on a new food/diet. It's clear that so...

Re: Pancreatitis stories/information

Hi and welcome. Pancreatitis is a very serious problem, as probably you already know because you have read it on the web or the vet told you. It is part of what it is called "triaditis", and inflammation of three departments: pancreas, bowels and liver. Usually one of the three organs to g...

Re: Hyperthyroid with my cat

Hi, I'm sorry to read that your cat had two surgeries, and yet the problem has come back. Did your vets run a test called scintigraphy? This test shows the vets how increased in volume the thyroid glands are, but it also shows the vets if the cat has some hectopic masses, that means that one or more...

Re: Squamous Cell Carcinoma SCC Feline newly diagnosed

I'm so sorry to read of your cat. My cat had the same thing, she had a cancer under her tongue. She started with losing some tiny drops of blood from her mouth, I would find them on the floor, in her food or in her water. On a day I opened and checked into her mouth and found this lump under her ton...

It's a terrible and devastaiting decision, but I understand it.
And I know how it hurts.

Have a safe and warm trip to the Bridge, MooMoo, and say hi to all the other kitties you will meet there. Do not worry, they will be all friends of yours.
And don't forget your mom that loved you so much! :(

Wow!
It sounds wonderful, it is very good news.

I'm no expert, but what your vet said might be true. The very thing that Milla isn't showing any major symptom and is eating and playing as her usual should give you some comfort.
Please, keep us posted.

Warm kisses to Milla and her friends! :D

Hi Modmodgirl, I'm sorry for your kitty, I know what it means and how hard it is, my cat had SCC too, she was diagnosed in early October 2016, though she had been having it since at least two months earlier, and she died at the end of March 2017, that is 6 months after the diagnosis, and at least 8 ...

Lilith is right.
Milla could have chewed on something else. Or you could have seen stains or different hues of colour in the vomit.

Did you see any changes in the colour of her poop?
Let us know, please!

Re: Mila threw up a blob of black blood, I'm terrified

Just don't panic! If that was blood, it should have smelled like blood too. You said it smelled of nothing. And you say that Milla is acting normally, so I think there's nothing to worry about. Unfortunately you threw the vomit away. My cat had two episodes of black vomit, I took pictures of them be...

Hi, My cat had been on Fortekor for years, because she had no other options for her CKD. Of course the med is not the definitive help, there are other measures you have to consinder, like a change in her diet and the possibility to give her some sub-Qs acording to the vet's plan. My cat would eat &q...

Re: Liver fibrosis - advice needed

Hi c4tl0v3r, Sorry to read that your cat isn't fine. I don't understand how a surgery can be of help in such a situation. A fibrotic liver is a liver whose tissue has become alterated and lost its softness, the texture is more like a muscle than like a sponge. This said, the only thing a surgery can...

Re: SCC/Stomatitis update-new diagnosis:parotid gland tumour

I miss being woken up by the feeling of her breathe on my cheek and the tickle of her whiskers on my face, which was her way of telling me she wanted me to get up-if I closed my eyes, she would then tap my face...she never meowed, or at least hers was a silent meow. Re: Stomatitis or oral cancer?

My cat had SCC under her tongue, so I cannot tell if this is the same thing. But what I know is that an SCC is a very aggressive kind of tumor and grows fast. So, if you have seen something worrying a few days/weeks ago and nothing has become different over this length of time (change of size, shape...

Hi all, it seems there are good news, but I'm still cautious. Last night I was thinking of your cat, and I forgot to tell you that I had good results with a product, a supplement, called Alevica.
It works on the pain reception, so your kitty might feel a bette relief. It takes about two weeks to kick in.
You might ask your vet.

Over here the vets advice that kittens have to be over 6 months old. It seems, though, that this school of thought is old-fashioned compared to the rest of the world.
