Re: New Kitten - Toileting Issues

Are you using the same type of litter she had at her other place? Where are the litter boxes placed? Sounds like she's associating your bed as a place to do wee. I tend to keep my kittens in a crate at night time, so everything is in reach. I do this for about 2 weeks, so they have somewhere safe an...

17yr old cat not eating

Hi, Can anyone recommend some wet food that will get an elderly cat eating again. I gave some tuna and she ate a bit. It feels like she can't smell it so no longer interested in eating. I have a bad feeling we will lose her soon. She has been losing weight over the weeks :( Has some cat sprinkles bu...

Six sense?

Hi, I have a 16yr old cat who's slightly deaf and blind. I noticed recently that my 4yr old cat is starting to sleep next to her. Not directly on her, like a foot away. He's never done that before, normally sleeps in his bed. Do you think he knows something that we don't? Like he can sense something...

Yeah, the wound needs to have air. The vet didn't bandage it up.

e-collar alternative?

Hi, so long story short my cat had to have stitches at the base of his tail due to a burst abscess. He needs to be kept indoors and wear an e-collar until it has healed. He is absolutely miserable. Keeps crying to go outside and tries constantly trying to get his collar off. :( His appetite has gone...

Ambipur plug in and stress causing UTI

Hi Has anyone experienced their cat being stressed from air fresheners. My house has been air freshener free for a few months as I forgot to buy the refill. I bought a different scent and plugged it in today. Now I've noticed that one of my cats is having problems going to the toilet. He is visiting...

Re: Severe cat cystitis in my 7 year old male cat, been going on for 2 months now help!

My cat had cystitis. Vet said it was due to stress. He was being bullied by another cat. Is your cat stressed at all? Something may be worrying him? Another thing that helps is diet. I try to give a wet food diet only. This helps increase their water intake, which will help the cystitis. Hope this h...

Re: Help with cats diarrhoea, at wits end

Agree with Molly. Please stick to a single food for a while. I suggest a single protein food, preferably grain free. My kitten had diarrhoea for a few weeks before it started to settle. I stuck to one food source and also gave pro-kolin to help firm up the stools. Now he eats anything and has no iss...

It's really hit and miss fjm. I've put down puppy pads on areas that can't be cleaned easily, like on the base of the cat scratching tower. Other then that she does it anywhere. Even wees in her bed!! Poor thing.

Re: Senile cat?

Thank you Mollycat. She's healthy in herself, still eating and drinking. She's slightly deaf and also blindish, has cataracts in both eyes. She's indoor only now. Use to be outdoor but over the last couple of years we've lost her as she never found her way back home. So lucky to have found her twice...

Senile cat?

My cat is 15yrs old. I think she may be senile as she's not using the litter tray very well. Some days she uses it, other days we find puddles on the floor. Anyone looked after a senile cat? What can you do?

Re: Recurrent UTI

Hi and welcome!

Many factors for UTI. It could be stress? How old is she? Does your cat eat wet or dry food? Make sure she gets plenty of water if on dry food or switch to wet to see if that helps.

My vet has heard a grade 1 heart murmur in my cat – should my cat have further tests performed?

Visited the vet today for routine check and jabs. He mentioned that my cat has a grade 1 heart murmur. He told me it wasn't due to stress from visiting the vets. My cat is 3yrs old and he REALLY gets stressed at the vets. I've read online that stress can cause low grade murmurs. He's happy and healt...

Re: Ill after eating grass

I grow cat grass for my cat as he's scared of going outside. I noticed that the grass doesn't last very long when I let them help themselves. Now I just cut off the grass as near to the bottom as possible, after letting it grow to maximum height, then i just snip it into tiny 5mm pieces on top of th...

Re: For those who feed their cats Felix, has anyone noticed that their cats have stopped eating it?

After reading comments from the experienced cat owners over the years, I now give my cats several brands of food to eat. I no longer stick to one brand of wet food due to them turning up their noses, should the recipe change. I have Felix AGAIL, Whiskas, Natures Menu Country Hunter, James Wellbelove...

Hi TinkerBeth, My kitten had the same problem. He's now on grain-free foods. I have Wainwrights, Lily's Kitchen, James Wellbeloved, Royal Canine Sensitive and Natures Menu. Retained deciduous teeth

Has anyone had a cat with retained deciduous teeth. I've noticed my 6mth old kitten still has his baby canines. He has lost all his other baby teeth. The bottom canines are okay. Will they evenutally drop out? How long does it take? He's eating okay and doesn't seem to be in any discomfort. How much...

Re: New mum cat is rough with babies!!

Welcome to the forum. I remember when mine had kittens, I kept them all safe in a large crate. She originally gave birth under the dining room chairs. After all kittens were born, we moved them to the large crate, with little handling. They couldn't venture too far. We handled them but didn't take t...
