Beautiful cat needs a loving home

Hi...I'm looking after a friend's beautiful orange (and a bit of white) medium-long hair cat. I have had her for a few months, and known her for over a year. We think she is between 2 - 3 years. She is beautiful, loving, playful and healthy. He can't take her back because he is moving somewhere he c...

Re: Found entire tabby tom in Lincoln LN1

I'm confused - is the cat in the photos still alive?

Re: My cat needs a new home

Wow, good on you Mayday21. I hope Bentley enjoys his new home. He didn't deserve all that upheaval but soon he'll be okay.

Re: My cat needs a new home

This is an old post. But I also wondered why people rehome cats when pregnant. If you know in the future you plan to have a baby, and if you know you don't want to have both in the same house, don't get a cat in the first place. Also there is evidence to prove that babies living with cats can be ver...

Re: RSPCA put down FIV cat

[quote="Lilith"]This lot did  I certainly wouldn't contact the RSPCA! quote] I know...it wouldn't have been my first port of call. Unfortunately by the time I got to the cat to take him to the vet - my friend had already been liaising with the RSPCA and had been misled. The vet too reassured m...

Re: RSPCA put down FIV cat

Another appalling thing is - it's not just the RSPCA, but some vets; I'm reminded of a friend's father who adopted a stray who, when taken in for neutering, was found to be FIV+ and pts without his owner being consulted. Have posted a thread on cat chatting with the full story. It's a minefield. Th...

Re: Found entire tabby tom in Lincoln LN1

It makes no sense that one brandh has one policy and another has a different policy. I replied to the message to try and save this tomcat. In my experience the RSPCA have lied and had a particularly callous attitude towards stray tomcats. There are other welfare organisations with a no-kill policy -...

Re: RSPCA put down FIV cat

Heartbreaking  I'd like to mention that the decision of the fate of FIV cats taken into RSPCA care varies from branch to branch. I was rehoming co-ordinator/trustee for RSPCA Lincs East branch back in 2013 & they pts any cat that came into their care with FIV. I was unhappy with them on numero...

Re: Found entire tabby tom in Lincoln LN1

He's so cute. Please whatever you do....don't do what my friend did with his entire Tom and alert the RSPCA...as they might put him down, as per my recent experience at https://www.catchat.org/felineforum/vie ... =16&t=5974

Re: RSPCA put down FIV cat

Sorry to hear of yet another case of just how useless the RSPCA has become. You said that it would be peoples 'first instinct' to call them regarding animal welfare . I'm afraid they would be the very last organisation I contacted. :( - yes well now I know this and never again. Actually I had a sin...

Re: RSPCA put down FIV cat

Hi there. That is disgusting. I'm afraid that the Reluctant Society are well known for this sort of thing - I think many people on here have had bad experiences or heard similar stories about them; until you find out about them you just don't realise how arbitrary and (I have to say it) cruel they ...

RSPCA put down FIV cat

Took a friend's injured cat the vet for him. He had the cat but the cat had become increasingly outdoors - kept coming back with injuries. One day he came back with a very bad injury to his face so my friend wanted to do something about it. Not sure why he didn't take proper ownership for the cat, p...

Re: Help make it a legal requirement for cats to be microchipped

I read a big news story about a lady whose Bengal cat was stolen and sold to someone else, despite her having papers and it being microchipped. The cat was missing for four years before the microchip company, Petlog, contacted her to let her know the new 'owners' had requested a change of address. W...
