Re: cat suddenly starts biting stuff and growling (at other cat?)

Has he had a rabies vaccine recently? I have heard from many pet parents that soon after a rabies vaccine their pet became extremely aggressive. If not, I would say that kitty is in pain. Can you check his mouth/gums? Is he going to the bathroom and eating okay? Does he chew on plastic or string or...

Re: cat suddenly starts biting stuff and growling (at other cat?)

Mouth seems fine, he actually hasn't done any of the things the past few days, hopefully things are getting better. Except, he has diarrhea now  I was thinking it might have been caused by sth he swallowed, but not sure, he had it last year for a few months as well (maybe the season change aff...

Re: cat suddenly starts biting stuff and growling (at other cat?)

I see.
Another issue I have with him is that he sometimes gnaws stuff like rubber mat (put it away by now), and recently even his toys like plush mice. In the morning I sometimes find that he did that and puked it all over the place...

Re: cat suddenly starts biting stuff and growling (at other cat?)

Thanks for the reply. I will consult a vet. But I doubt he has any physical problems, but yeah, maybe I can't see it.
I also wonder if it's not a hormonal issue, even though he's neutered..
There are no changes in the environment, and they are indoor cats (4th floor of an apartment house)

cat suddenly starts biting stuff and growling (at other cat?)

Since a month or so ago, the boy has started behaving a weird, he'd sometimes bite into sth strongly (usually one of the toys or a b...

Quick update, been quiet the whole week, except for today (5am, a LOT of meowing). Again, not sure what was different..only that I went to bed half an hour earlier than usual.

Re: Wake-up call every morning...tried EVERYTHING!!

Hi, there! I really think that there is a really good chance that your second cat could be the key to your solution. But first could you tell me how well the two cats get along? Perhaps building out their bond would keep them focused on each other and not you when you are trying to sleep. Also, are...

Re: Wake-up call every morning...tried EVERYTHING!!

I tried everything. when I ignored them they tore up the carpet. I now have a solution. They each have a cat crate with water, a bed and cat litter. At the first sign of trying top wake me up, they go. They hate it but I need to sleep. I would prefer them to sleep next to me from midnight to 8am bu...

Thanks for the advice. She is almost 5, got her recently from a place that got her from a pet shop where she was used for breeding and "retired". She does have a habit of chewing on plastic bags and throwing up (from before I got her), but I put away all plastic she might be interested in,...

Puking cat

Hi all, so one of my cats (boy) is meowing every morning (as mentioned in a different thread), the other one (girl) has a bit of a puking habit (the boy has never puked). About once a week it happens that she would throw up all the food she has just eaten...and I wonder why. Is it too much food? She...

Re: Wake-up call every morning...tried EVERYTHING!!

Thanks everyone. The main reason we don't let them into the bedroom is that my wife already has a few allergies and wanna avoid getting a cat allergy on top of that. I did try it one night when she was on a trip, but my hoping they'd sleep quietly was naive, especially the young noisy boy would just...

Wake-up call every morning...tried EVERYTHING!!

Hi everyone! Found this forum as I desperately need some advice! Got a cat a few months back and he would always meow early in the morning, very loudly, and wake me up. He seemed to be lonely (we don't let him into the bedroom). After a while, we got him company, a 2nd cat, and for a while all was g...
