Re: I almost adopted this Siamese kitten and now it might be dead :(

btw I think it's a real Siamese too because it has blue eyes and not the kind you see in young small kittens from what this blurry pic shows and what my friend described

Re: I almost adopted this Siamese kitten and now it might be dead :(

Thanks
The kids who picked it up said someone threw it out of a car on a busy street and they saved it, so it could be a real Siamese, its behavior definitely suggested as much according to Danny, my friend.
Here's hoping they find it.

I almost adopted this Siamese kitten and now it might be dead :(

viber_image_2020-09-29_07-35-33.jpg My friend takes care of stray cats and kittens, there's tons where I live so a bunch of people get together and feed them, it's the way things are here. So yesterday some kids brought this Siamese kitten there. A few people wanted to take it in, none with cat exp...

Re: Safe solution to get rid of a massive ant infestation in our kitchen?

Haven't had ants since the 17th, so some 12 days now. What we did was make balls of boric acid mixed in with corn meal, sugar and some flour. We also left crumbs of this stuff along the wall near the cat food, then taped that up nice and good so the cats can't get to it, but ants should be able to g...

Re: Safe solution to get rid of a massive ant infestation in our kitchen?

Thanks a ton Macedonia isn't part of the EU yet so I'm sure we can get both :) I know we have Boric Acid here, it's easy to find, we even use it for like home made remedies like for example if like people's legs hurt they sometimes wrap them in cloth soaked in Boric Acid and that supposedly helps, n...

Re: Safe solution to get rid of a massive ant infestation in our kitchen?

Borax is the same as Boric Acid? If so that's partially how we dealt with the cockroach problem, but after that I read it's poisonous to cats, however if I use the same method as with the cockroaches a few years back, balls made out of doe, boric acid and sugar maybe it's going to work? It's just th...

Safe solution to get rid of a massive ant infestation in our kitchen?

This is a first, the kitchen has been infested with ants for over a month now. It started out harmless enough on the balcony as it often happens in my apartment building, no biggie, since the cats don't go there we bought some ant killing pouder and poured it there to keep the ants from getting in, ...

Re: Cat with 2 homes?

I don't think you should be bothered by this kinda stuff, it's no competition dude, it doesn't matter which house the cats walks from or back to, what matters is the cat is safe and healthy and well taken care of. I felt quite offended by this, as if my house isn't good enough for my cat. It's well ...

Re: Roof construction in my building is stressing out Casper big time

Hopefully Casper won't need it, but we'll see I'm going to talk to my vets, they're good people and will probably have something stronger. Today the construction wasn't going on for very long tho, Casper got scared but no panting this time around and he seemed to have calmed down quicker. How long d...

Re: Roof construction in my building is stressing out Casper big time

Thanks, I have no idea what Zylkene is even called in my country or if it's possible to obtain it here. My vet said this Valerian thing or Valiriana as he called it should be enough so we'll see, I wouldn't mind using Zylkene, anything really to keep him calm assuming it gets as bad as it did yester...

Re: Roof construction in my building is stressing out Casper big time

I built him a make shift pillow fort and put his carrier in the middle of it, he is there now but we'll see how he reacts to the noise when it gets too loud, he is hopped up on that thing too but he still seems to react to the noise. As long as that gel thing keeps his heart in check hopefully he'll...

Roof construction in my building is stressing out Casper big time

There's roof constitutions going on in my building, it doesn't bother Milla or Kala and initially Casper was cool with it too but then it really started stressing him out to a point where he started panting like a dog, meaning his heart was racing real bad probably, he started stress grooming himsel...

Re: What is wrong with my kitten SERIOUSLY??!

I'm so sorry to hear this, I understand the horror you are going through right now. It could just be the diarrhea and the kitten might just need a few IVs or it could end badly, anything can happen to a small kitten like this, sometimes this stuff happens and its my biggest fear with little kittens,...

Re: uh oh Mom Milla can't recognize her boy Casper and hisses at him now?

Happy to report that it was indeed the stain, since my last post the stain has been fading away and with that Milla's normal behavior toward Casper resumed, no hissing, no avoiding, she also doesn't seem to have night terrors anymore. It specifically stopped when we managed to whiten the stain up as...

Re: uh oh Mom Milla can't recognize her boy Casper and hisses at him now?

Milla definitely has some kind of psychological issues, not something that can be sorted out in my country tho. Ever since this whole thing started, she's been crying in her sleep and wakes up frightened, she just did it again, has been doing it for almost two weeks now. She is clearly terrified of ...

Re: uh oh Mom Milla can't recognize her boy Casper and hisses at him now?

I can confirm with 90% certinaty that it is indeed the stain and maybe the smell it has if it has any that bothers her because she is fine with him as long as she doesn't see his face lol Like she was grooming him from behind the other night and everything was normal, but when poor Casper turned tow...

Re: uh oh Mom Milla can't recognize her boy Casper and hisses at him now?

yeah I think it's definitely a smell issue There's probably the smell of anti biotics too tho that's never bothered her before, but Casper has never had this happen to him before and the longer the fur stays wet the more it starts to smell of like wet cloth or something, I've smelled it on Anastasia...

He's never had something like that before tho

it's not infected, just the normal rust color for persians

Everything has been fantastic since I last posted here, Kala got back to wet food a month later and now is addicted to Whiskas salmon I believe. Re: What to do with indoor cats if we get hospitalized for Corona?

I was hopeful thinking that the cats would sustain themselves in a month there's no way they'd eat over 10Kg of cat food, they generally eat less when no one is home, at least mine do. The reason I'm thinking about this is because people might not even want to enter the apartment/condo knowing there...

Re: What to do with indoor cats if we get hospitalized for Corona?

If there's people to look after them, sure we will stick to the litter boxes they use now. But if they have to be left alone for a month the best solution would be a ton of litterboxes, food and a cat and water bowls and a cat fountain We're looking for a sturdy, good cat fountain now but finding on...

What to do with indoor cats if we get hospitalized for Corona?

I've been talking to people about this and everyone, cat lovers included so far seem to brush it off. I asked my vet and she wasn't overly concerned either. I work from home and have no way of contracting the virus, I've told all my friends I'm putting myself on lockdown because I can't afford to ge...

What do y'all make of Kala's weird behavior when it comes to wet food?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! I just wanted to ask what you guys make of Kala's behavior as of late, the vet doesn't think it's anything serious and neither do I but still, it wouldn't hurt to ask more people. All three are doing great, tho Kala has been weird this about a month or, s...

Phew, he just threw it back up, completely intact, undamaged just a lil wrapped I'm sorry about this topic but I had to ask, in all these years I've never had any of my cats swallow plastic. Casper did swallow a Christmas decoration once, but that was just paper, he pooped it out, he also swallowed ...

Casper swallowed a longer string of plastic wrapping, how dangerous is this?

My vet says to patiently wait for his next two stools and if he passes it it's all good, if not to call him and he should be able to sort it out easily and not to worry. I'm worried tho because I know plastic is toxic to cats but my vet says he is in no immediate danger. Casper didn't seem to care, ...

Would taking this kitten in pose a risk to my cats?

There's a very tiny kitten in my neighborhood with a severe eye infection, one of its eyes is white/blind the other is ok but both are very crusty and it can barely open them. I was considering taking the kitten to the vet but I don't know if it's already been treated by someone or not as people in ...

I figured I'd check the forum, see what's up.....and I thought lol there's another cat named Milla, neat, then realized it's a topic I made from 2015 wow Casper was neutered at about a year old and his head IS indeed pretty big, dunno if it would've been smaller if he was fixed earlier in life or no...
