Re: One week since my fur baby had to leave.
Hi, Im so sorry for your loss I really do know what you are going through as 6 weeks ago I lost my beloved Gizzmo who was 17 years old. He too had renal kidney disease but only had it for a year and a half. He went off his food from time to time so we decided to take him to the vet only to discover ...

Re: Gizzmo
No, it's an emotional moment. Tell you what, I've never been able to face doing that, accept their ashes back. Not ever. But Gizzmo's not in that package - he's young and strong and free again, and you set him free. I once read in a novel about an animal's body being its 'old clothes'. Gizzmo's spi...

Re: Can’t shake the guilt
I know you are all trying to ease my pain but nothing will do that as when I took Gizzmo to the vet and she said he had to be put to sleep she said it doesn’t have to be now but I said if I take him home I won’t bring him back, well isn’t that just the most ridiculous thing to say or course I would...

Can’t shake the guilt
it’s been 5 days since I had my boy Gizzmo put to sleep and I can’t come to terms with the fact that I ended his life and I wasn’t brave enough to have been with him at the end, I don’t think that I will ever forgive myself for that, he was mine and I should have been there, I feel so sad and depres...

Re: Time to say goodbye
Hi Gabby, welcome and hugs. Why is it, when to release a being from a horribly diseased and disabled body is the last act of love we can give, do we then feel so guilty? We all do, and we shouldn't. Wherever Gizzmo is now he is free and healthy and lively again and I believe you'll be reunited some...

Re: Time to say goodbye
So sorry to hear about Gizzmo. It is never easy to let go, but you have done the right thing. I can't add any more to what Lilith and booktigger have said. Just know that we are here for you and understand what you are going through. (Hugs) Sue Thanks for the kind words as I’ve needed them, this ex...

Thanks everyone it’s been a tough few days since I lost my boy but starting to realise that I did do the right thing and I think that when my boys home with us again I will start to heal.

Riddled with guilt
I had to say goodbye to my beloved Persian cat Gizzmo last Sunday, he was 17. He had kidney problems and up until recently was doing fine but then last Monday I noticed that he wasn't eating much of his food and throughout the week it got less and less. I rang the vet on Saturday and had an appointm...
