Re: Moving to a new house with a blind cat
Just thought I'd do a quick update after so many of you offered your advice. We've been in our new house for almost a month now and the re-hab process has so far been easier than I'd imagined it would be. Buddy, our blind lad, wanders around fine and has adapted really quickly to his new surrounding...

Re: If you want the best seat in the house...
Not snoring, no but he has the most unusual 'singing' purr. It's almost a warble. I've likened it to a WRC rally-prepped Subaru Impreza.bobbys girl wrote:Great picture! He looks like my OH on a Sunday afternoon - hope he doesn't snore the same!

If you want the best seat in the house...
..move the cat!
Came in to find Pedro chilling out in my spot, the cheeky so-and-so. I can only assume that he fell asleep watching the TV.
Needless to say, I didn't move him, I left him to chill.

Re: My Semi Feral
Our youngest, Tucker, is a feral. He's about 18 months old. We found him in a hedge, or the dog did, in the countryside miles away from anywhere. He was only about 7 or 8 weeks old. It took us about an hour to capture him. He had a tunnel network through the hedgerows more complex than Tora Bora. :l...

Re: Bobby update
Great to hear Bobby is recovering well and is on the mend. As a newcomer to this forum, what happened to him originally?

Re: How did your cats cope with the storms?
One of the best (I love storms) I've seen for a long time. One carried on sleeping on the cat bed, our blind boy Budster just wandered around the kitchen waiting to be fed and then sat down with the dog as I was watching the lightning from the back door, one quietly slipped behind the sofa and staye...

Thanks again for the replies. Will try the 'Ooops' call if we see him heading towards anything, it's a good idea.

Wow, so sorry to hear about Pip. I'm new to this forum and one of our boys has recently become blind. Is he ok now?

Re: New cat flap owner
We just tied ours open with a piece of string and left it for a couple of days. It wasn't a tunnel one though, just in the door but I'd give it a try. Once they're used to coming and going through it, they'll soon learn to push the flap open when you drop it back down.

Re: Moving to a new house with a blind cat
Thanks Meriad. It will be a slow process I’m sure but we’ll get there. Our timing is terrible, I know. We’ll make sure that the garden is secure, which shouldn’t be too difficult as it’s fenced on all sides so we just need to gate the passageway. We’ve talked about buying a little harness and lead a...

Moving to a new house with a blind cat
Hi folks, I’m hoping that someone may be able to give me some good advice or pointers regarding the above. We had suspected that one of our cats was getting a little short sighted - he’s 13 years old - so our vet referred him to an ophthalmic specialist who diagnosed him with a non-treatable degener...
