cat sounds

My cat Ivo is a ginger and white 5 year old. He make noises as he jumps or runs or when he has the zoomies running around the house, he is always making different noises. It's very cute but I don't understand the significance of it. Also he grabs my leg if I so much as look at my mobile phone and he...

Whinging or greeting?

My cat either loves greeting or whinging to visitors at the door. He used to be a bit scared when someone came into our house but now as soon as someone comes whether they have been there before or for the first time, he comes to the door and starts to meow at them continuously. I'm not sure why he ...

Re: Cat Behavior

My cats seem to have totally accepted each other now. It's been 3 and a half months and this morning they even ate out of their individual bowls near each other. They eat of each other's plates at times, neither seems to mind. They play together. And even sit quietly together. There doesn't seem to ...

Re: Cat Behavior

Hi Everyone, Update on my 2 cats. They have been living together 5 weeks today. They chase each other a lot. Now and then, one of them might swat the other. Sometimes she spits at him but I think she is telling him she doesn't want to play anymore. He is only 3 years old, he wants to play all the ti...

Re: Cat litter smells

I use Vita pet brand clumping litter.
It specifies Powerful Odour Control.
I use the one for Laundry. But they do have a Kitchen/Bathroom one (could be scented). And I have seen a Garage one too at the supermarket.

Re: Cat Behavior

Hi Everyone, It seems now after one month, my two cats have accepted that the other is not moving out. They seem to play together more often. And can tolerate being near each other (much closer) than they used to be. We are so glad they didn't end up fighting. They both seem to be at the same level,...

Re: Cat litter questions - please share your experience!

For my cat, Ivo, I used to use the Catsan crystals but the litter tray would get quite wet and smelly and I thought it was rough on his paws. Someone suggested to me a sand clumping 100% biodegradable product (made by Vitapet) and to add it to the crystals to get him used to it slowly. But as soon a...

Re: Cat Behavior

Thanks Kay and Lilith. I am thinking maybe they get on better because I didn't actually just bring a cat in the house, Sootie (the female) came with my mother, so at first Ivo (the male) was scared of my mother but not anymore, but maybe he sees it as my mother brought the other cat, not me. And my ...

Re: Cat Behavior

He goes in her room and checks out her scratching post etc.and she acts like her room ha...

Cat Behavior

Hi Everyone, I am a new member and I could use some advice. I have a 3 year old male neutered indoor cat. My mother has now moved in with me and brought her 10 year old female neutered indoor cat. They have been living together now 2 weeks. Their kitty litters are in separate rooms and so is their f...
