Re: Cats and Christmas trees!!!!

Thanks for the hug. Sorry I didn't mean to hijack the thread to pour out all my woes, yesterday was just a bad day for me with it and I started rambling. I will say having seen some videos of cats and Christmas trees i do wonder just what the owners were thinking, particularly when the cat is chewi...

Re: Beef cat food.

Mine are OK with the beef, it's the salmon they won't eat. Funny thing is on the odd occasion I take out a second mortgage and get some wild sockeye salmon, I get mugged by the lot of them! They sit around us, drooling, while we are eating! Reading how bad farmed salmon has become, I wonder if the c...

Re: Sad update SCC/my baby is gone - Dilemma - 20yr old cat with dental problems

It is a lesson I learned early in life when the first cat my family had ended up with stomach cancer, which wasn't diagnosed until he had exploratory surgery. The vet phoned while he was on the table under anesthetic to ask my parents if they wanted him woken up, if he had been he would have starve...

Re: Its too COLD Daddy!

Well, Lilith, there was a time, nearly 8 years ago now, when snow up to their tummies stopped Badger and Tilly going out. It wasn't that they didn't want to go (indeed they were impatient to get out) but all the water they had dumped on the cat flap from their belly fur when they came in the night ...

Re: Cat won’t eat special diet.

Our tap water smells like a swimming pool, so it's no wonder the cats won't drink it. We invested in a ceramic water filter and everyone is happy now. Although they all like pond water too! The chicken broth sounds a good idea. I got a whole load of chicken thighs to make a curry tonight. I put two ...

Re: 12 days in and still tormented

There is nothing much I can add to what has already been said. I know there are many of us who have come so close to having to make that decision. A few weeks back, when little Freddie broke his leg, I know that it could have been so much worse and the thought of that makes me feel sick. The 'what i...

Hello, and welcome to CC. Sorry I have only just seen your post, I've not been around much lately. First of all thank you so much for taking in an FIV+ cat. They are so often rejected. My boy Bob is FIV+. We found him as a kitten and did not find out his status for over a year. He eats the same as m...

We have a magnet that reads 'If you want the best seat in the house, you'll have to move the cat'. In our house it should really read 'If you want A seat ....'

Some pictures of Bob. The first is of Billy and Fred and a newly returned (from the vets) Bob. The second is a photo of some old lady (OK, me, :( ;) ) and a bandaged Bob. The last one is of Freddie and Bob. Yes that IS just ONE cat stretched out on the sofa! rsz_005 (1).jpg rsz_007 (1).jpg rsz_009 (...

Re: It never rains, but it pours!

Sorry I have not been here for a while. Just a quick report back. The vet was very pleased with Bob's progress and have said to bring him in for a quick consult next week. All being well, that should be the final one.

Thanks for your support and kind thoughts.

How is she now?? Hi William, thanks for asking. Freddie is doing really well, thank God! Re: Frontline Alert!

We find the front line spray very effective and instead of spraying directly on the cat you can wear rubber gloves spray it on your hands and rub it all through their fur it reduces the stress of having to hold onto them and spray them and you don't get the skin reaction of so many spot on treatmen...

It may be the Frontline itself? I have had problems with it before. But I can't think that the patch on Purdy's neck could be anything else. I wonder if there has been a formula change? Need to know for next time.

Frontline Alert!

Just thought I'd pass this on. When we were last at the vets with Bobby, we mentioned the sore that Purdy had on her neck. The vet told us there was a lot of fake Frontline out there - even in some shops, not just online. I must tell Pets at Home they may have had other reports.

Bob should be at the vets now, but the little beggar has escaped and gone AWOL! Been searching everywhere. Positive homecoming vibes pleased. Quick tea break then out again.

Little beggar strolled in at 4.50, too late for the vets!! He's going tomorrow AM.

I can't believe this is happening! Bobby is at the vets this evening with an enormous abscess at the base of his right ear and a hole in the ear! I am sorry you are going through this. I just wanted to let you know - you WILL get through it. It takes as long as it takes. You have had good advice already and I second that. Try and avoid antidepressives they cause more problems than they solve and are an easy option for GPs. Friends are better,...
