Re: Newly rescued cat diagnosed with FIV - lots of questions...

Like jillyvillyvoo, I have not been on this site for a while, but while doing some computer 'spring cleaning' this post caught my eye. I see it was first posted in May and a lot may have happened since then. But I thought I would add my penny's worth while I'm here! Bob, my avatar is FIV+. He is now...

Re: Willow Update - RIP little girl

Pussy Willow passed over to The Bridge at 11.45 this morning. After a lovely last weekend of cuddles and walks around the garden, she was starting to struggle this morning and just didn't want to know. We bought her home and let the others say goodbye in there own way. Billy and Willow's friend Purd...

Re: Willow not eating - any ideas?

Thank you for your kind comments. We are going to make her as comfortable as possible. She was content sitting by the fire and lay on our bed overnight - which is not like her. When we spoke to her she blew us kitty kisses. The vet called this morning to see how she was, which was very nice of her. ...

Re: Willow not eating - any ideas?

I do know that, thank you Vivian. It is not looking good for the little girl. We had a long talk with Monika at the vets today. She showed us Willow's Xray and compared it with another cats. Her heart is slightly enlarged and there is something pressing on her thorax. But the really odd thing is her...

Re: Willow not eating - any ideas?

Thanks for your replies. We have used Recovery before as a 'tonic' for our skinny Minnie, Purdy. She LOVES it. As I remember, Willow's not so struck but it is worth a shot. She does like fish. I might get a small piece from ASDA tomorrow. Good news from the vets tonight. Willow has had something to ...

Thank you for that. We don't have a Morrisons here but I know a butcher who could get me some of that. I'll try it!

Willow not eating - any ideas?

Hi guys, long time, no see. I am hoping some of you experienced kitty folks might have some suggestions as to how we can help our old girl Willow. In the last few weeks Willow has gone off even her favourite foods and has lost quite a bit of weight. We noticed her 'gulping' like she was having diffi...

Re: Purdy not well

Thanks both of you for your replies. I hadn't though about dosage. Purdy has always been slightly built and lately with the tooth problem she has not been finishing her meals. It must be extremely difficult to judge the amount of anaesthetic, too little and she is still awake, too much and it could ...

Purdy not well

Our old lady Purdy is not well. She has not been 100%for a while but we put it down to her age (14 next week) and the fact she has always been a slight, skinny cat. But her usual 'zip' has been missing a few weeks. Yesterday, as she had not had her breakfast and was looking very down, Dave took her ...

Mine used to love AGAIL, but just recently seem to have gone off it, starting with the lamb and salmon varieties. Just lately they lick off the gravy/jelly and leave everything else.

Re: Cats and badgers

We are in a rural situation and would have the odd fox or badger about but oddly enough, not in the garden We DO have polecats/pine martins (or some such mix) that are causing havoc among our chicken owning neighbours and are probably responsible for the death our pet jackdaw a couple of years back....

Oddcat, you cupcake sounds just like my Freddie - soft, sweet and gentle. Since he has gone his brother Billy and my other boy Bob can't share the same room!. Freddie was peacemaker. He used to get so upset at kitty quarrels that it stopped them in their tracks. It is such a comfort to have understa...

I have just seen your post June. I have been so wrapped up in my own misery and grief I have forgotten that others are going through it too. I am so sorry for your loss. Perhaps your Spike will take my Freddie under his wing at the Bridge. He needs a big brother, he's only a little boy.

I'd just like to thank everyone for their kind words. It is some comfort to know there are people out there who understand. Dave was talking to a friend of his who works for the council. Re: Freddie is missing.

Very sad news I'm afraid. Heard from a friend who was telling her family about Fred. Her son said a 'few days ago' he was cycling half a mile from our house and saw a black cat, dead at the side of the road. I asked was it a long haired cat, the answer came back 'yes, with a bushy tail'. All I can t...

Re: Snap crackle and pop

I hope you all have a much better start to the year than us - still no sign of Freddie. Over here in NI they have the right idea about fireworks. You have to purchase a licence to buy them. That puts off most people and stops kids buying them. It was very quiet here last night. Don't think I have se...

Thinking of you - mine used do this to me often when they were younger, and at this time of year it was nearly always because they had got shut in somewhere. Are there any neighbouring garages or sheds, or even houses, that he may have ventured into? The stupid thing is, until recently there were a...

I need your help people. I need all the prayers and positive vibes you can send. Freddie is missing. I haven't seen him since early yesterday. I just assumed he was around as, unlike Billy, he seldom goes far. I am sick with worry. I have walked up and down the lane with no sign. I miss my fuzzy cud...

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. My sister bought Georgia some lick-e-lix treats. I've not seen them before so I opened one up and squeezed it slowly out for her. After she nearly devoured the packet and my fingers I threw the packet in the bin after which Georgia took it out of the bin. This w...

In all honesty, Rex cats are not amongst my favourites. However, your cat has the sweetest, most open expression (not scary, like my Willow, or grumpy, like Gracie) and the most stunningly beautiful eyes I have seen in a long while.

Yes - go for it, and good luck!

Mine are OK with the beef, it's the salmon they won't eat. Funny thing is on the odd occasion I take out a second mortgage and get some wild sockeye salmon, I get mugged by the lot of them! They sit around us, drooling, while we are eating! Reading how bad farmed salmon has become, I wonder if the c...
