Am I feeding my cat enough?

When my cat Tiger was neutered, the vets advised me to put him on low calorie food as neutered and indoor cats can be prone to gaining weight. I did this, but he kept gaining weight anyway, so I kept reducing his portions until he was a healthier weight. He is now a healthy weight of 3.9 kilos, some...

Re: Alternatives to cat cones?

Actually he seems to be getting used to the cone now, might just leave it!

Alternatives to cat cones?

My cat is currently wearing a cone after surgery and is super depressed. Before the dressing came off and he was cone free he was really happy, so I know it’s the cone. I worry because last time he wore a cone he ended up going crazy and eating a piece of string and almost died. Has anyone tried the...

Re: Cat vomited this morning and still not eating!!

Hi everyone, another update, Tiger is doing really well, I should be able to bring him home on Sunday. I can’t wait to have him home!!! The vet bills are pretty enormous, and I found out that my insurance only covers a small part of it. I’ve set up a GoFundMe page to try to help raise some funds, do...

Re: Cat vomited this morning and still not eating!!

Hi everyone, update - they did a scan and it turns out he had swallowed a small piece of string. Completely unrelated to the previous injury. He is just having a very unlucky week. It was stuck in his intestines and they had to open him up to remove it. They are doing surgery on him now, just waitin...

Re: Cat vomited this morning and still not eating!!

Update, I managed to get him to drink about 2 teaspoons of water but still no food. I took him to the vet first thing this morning and pleased I did because he was already getting dehydrated. They are going to dehydrate him and run some tests to see what may be causing it - they felt around again an...

Re: Cat vomited this morning and still not eating!!

He did check it, it was ever so slightly high but he said that was probably just from the stress from being in the basket and at the vets. It’s 4am now and he is still just sitting in this ball not eating or drinking or sleeping. Think I will take him back in as soon as they open at 8:30.

Cat vomited this morning and still not eating!!

Hi everyone, Last week my cat hurt himself and had to have stitches on his head. He has been doing great (though fed up of the cone!), and mostly himself, but this morning he did not eat all of his breakfast, and vomited up what he did eat! I was worried he may have chicken bones stuck in his stomac...

Re: Cut/sore on my cat’s head?!

It’s unlikely he got into a fight with another cat, as he doesn’t go out! Unless he somehow met the cat in the downstairs flat when he occasionally darts down the main stairs, but I doubt it, especially without me seeing. The only thing I can think of is that he does sometimes get in the dishwasher,...

Re: Cut/sore on my cat’s head?!

Thanks for your lovely replies! It makes the whole ordeal much less frightening! Update, I have picked him up from vets and he’s now home recovering, a bit dopey and cross and with a big bald patch, but he’s ok. I looked under the bed for any sharp objects, I assumed that’s where it would be as he l...

Re: Cut/sore on my cat’s head?!

Thanks guys, I took him to the vets this morning and it was a really deep cut! They said he must have caught himself on a screw or something sticking out somewhere. They are putting him in general anaesthetic and giving him stitches :( :( Going to pick him up later this evening. Also need to go home...

Cut/sore on my cat’s head?!

90669086-B3C1-4D08-A14B-47C4445255EB.jpeg last night I noticed some blood on my cats head but couldn’t find the reason. This morning I can see there is a horrible sore/cut on his head! It looks really red! He is an indoor cat so can’t think how he could have scratched it like this. I called the vet...
