Re: Another b****y stray

If you do need help with him could you maybe pop into your local vet to see if they can point you somewhere other than the RSPCA? They are notorious for putting down healthy animals.

Re: Spayed cat on heat

Oh poor little Amber.......that is dreadful......how on earth can a vet miss such a thing.....surely the vet and/or the vet nurse must have known they did not remove the required number of ovaries!!! However the main thing is the op is over and done with, Amber will be home with you shortly and can ...

Re: Spayed cat on heat

Oh dear.....does sound like the RSPCA branch you adopted her from may have been, how can I put this politely (!), slightly less than organised. A cat being too skinny to be spayed is certainly one I have never heard of.........all I can say is lets hope they do not adopt that attitude with all the a...

Re: Spayed cat on heat

First of all how lovely to hear a rescued cat settling in so well..............they know when they land on their paws! Am definately no expert but that does not sound right to me. Not sure if you are letting her out yet but to be on the safe side I would make sure she cannot get out. The mum of the ...

Oh bless him. But as has already been said, it does not matter how his food is delivered to him as long as he eats it.

Re: Nee kitten. is it indoor or outdoor cat?

Over the years I have had 4 "indoor" cats, 2 of which are currently still enjoying a very pampered life. The main reason they are indoors is I live in a 3rd floor flat, which is on a main road. But before anybody thinks in such circumstances I should never had had a cat all of them have ar...

Re: Milk?

You can buy milk for cats, Whiskas etc do cartons but they are quite expensive. My two boys are more than happy with plain water but I do not put the water bowls near their food bowls. I read somewhere that cats do not like to eat and drink in the same area (something to do with their instincts!). A...

Re: The wacky things we do for our cats...

Because my boys are getting on in years and I am worried about their joints, mainly William as he is rather rotund(!) and even though there is nothing to indicate a problem, just me being over protective, I have put a foot stool beside my bed to make it easier for them to get up and down from the be...

Re: food for an old cat

How about coley or cod? I buy the frozen 6 portions per pack from either Tesco or Sainsbury's and microwave one portion that I divide between my two 17 year old boys. Only takes about two and a half minutes and they absolutely love it plus it is also gentle on their tummies.

Re: Roughly how much do you think it costs to 'keep' a cat .

I have two indoor boys and by the time I have bought food, litter, treats, fish (cod in the morning and coley in the evening with some prawns before bedtime...them not me!) I don't even want to know how much I spend. What I do know is I spend longer deciding on their food then I do mine :!:
