Marvellous, thanks Meriad.
I'll suggest that. The tip on getting rid of the niff is v useful and I have some lemon oil.
The puffy thing might freak the Yorkie out!

Cats peeing on the outside doormat.
Not sure if this should be here or not. Anyway, my parents have a problem with the cats on the block peeing on their front doormat. It's one of those fake plastic grass jobs (the coir one they had dissolved after being peed to death!). They do not have a cat. They have a dog, who frankly would like ...

Oh yes, the machine still works - it's an old treadle one and she barfed all over the lovely polished wood..... which has slightly lost its gloss now.

Yes and yes..... If they don't require any further work to the door, I shall look into one and hope my landlady doesn't notice in other news, now I'm back under the covers, she's sleeping on the bed again - got kicked too often in the hot weather (was woken by a single claw in my big toe one night)....

She is chipped (first thing I did when I got her), but I have a rented flat. My Landlady won't let me do anything to it.
If it were mine I'd have one of those in a heartbeat.

So you know how it is, you read one book on cat psychology and you start to worry. Minnie-Moobles likes to wake me up during the night for cuddles. I worried that this might be a stressy thing, related to the fact that the local cats like to come in and help themselves to her food and lounge on her ...

Re: Are we doing right by new cat?
We adopted a nervous 1 year old cat from a sanctuary a week ago. She was originally from a small flat with 9 cats; we don't know any more but we assume she hasn't had a very comfortable first year. The day we got her she hid in her box for hours, then found another hiding spot. She was constantly v...

Re: No breakfast for my cheeky little madam!
Oh I won't even have them in the house any more. Minnie once ate a whole box and then barfed all over my sewing machine. Unfortunately, I don't use my sewing machine every day, so it was all lovely and dry when I found it. Hammer and chisel time. I nearly put her on cat shaming. Sorry I'm not sorry.

Re: Cat furniture - how to stop your cat getting bored
I think I'll have a go at the undertable hammock. What's the worst that can happen? Miss Minnie can ignore it. That's brill, wish I'd thought of that.
But that cat house is a-mew-zing. Seen pikkies elsewhere.

I do not wish to discuss how far a tub of spread can go across a kitchen floor. Well, obviously, I do, because otherwise I wouldn’t have mentioned it. Put a tub of spread in my bag this morning while I was pottering about. Now I grant you that the veg rack was probably not a good place to put it, bu...

How did your cats cope with the storms?
How did everybody's cats get on with the thunderstorms last week? Minnie was like an ice-cube that had been dipped in liquid nitrogen..... not a stuff was given, at any point. In fact she spent most of the time curled up on the kitchen floor, waiting for meeces. Now my Mum's Yorkie did his raving nu...

Re: They can spot a flea treatment a mile off!
Oh yes. I woke up this morning and my first thought was "oh s***, it's the 21st." I am already 3 days behind with Minnie's drops. Ideally, I should have got the drops out on Friday. Then we would stealthily have brought them to the bedroom, finally Ninja-style to pop them o her back. But i...

Flubble!!!! That is one gorjuss kitty. Minnie is very well behaved around the guinea pigs. She likes to watch them. When she first arrived, I let her sniff the biggest one - Sylvia. She gave Sylvia a thorough sniffing over and then tried to wash her..... And I wish you could have seen the expression...

Diversionary Tactics - Back of the neck drops
Oh wise Catchatters Advice required. Minnie's back of the neck drops are due soon. She behaves like it's boiling acid being put on and she has a calendar, because every month her behaviour changes.... stops sleeping on the bed, etc. I have to snap the little thing out of the blister pack a couple da...

Re: Cat Posters vs Busy Body
Spoke to my friend and putting posters up comes under planning - I missed that you'd spoken to the Borough Council in your original thread. Different Councils seem to different things. Some just instruct their street cleaners to remove them, others ask you to. Depends where you live. Having taken a ...

Re: Cat Posters vs Busy Body
I'd check with your Borough or District Council (as opposed to the County Council) to see if they have a byelaw on flyposting, because nasty as this note is, they could well be right (I'll check with my friend who deals with local byelaws whether it's a local thing or not). And there is an implied t...

[quote="Janey"]Some cats though don't like their water near their food. quote] Aaaaaah, that makes sense. Minnie would not touch the water bowl next to her food bowl. Couldn't understand it. She would try and drink the orange squash out of my glass on my bedside box. I didn't think Tartraz...

Newbie - or should that be Mewbie?
Hello everyone I'm new here. I am owned by Minnie, a cuddlebun of a black and ginger tortie, who's 4-ish. I've had her a year. She came to me through some friends whose elderly neighbour went into hospital and didn't come back, she went into a home. Minnie was originally called Wilhelmina.... or Wil...
