Re: Extreme flea infestation - please help.

Well I went to the vets yesterday and they suggested flea tablets as opposed to treatment on the back of the neck. The dosage is dependent on the cats weight and the cost is around £8 a tablet. I was told it starts working within 30 minutes and most fleas on the cats will be dead within 4 hours. It ...

Re: Extreme flea infestation - please help.

Thank you everyone. My husband has been out this morning and bought them each a cat bed so they don't sleep on our sofas or beds. The sprays we have been using say it can be used on soft furnishings, I take it that includes sofas and beds? We have decided to lock the cat flap so they can't go outsid...

Extreme flea infestation - please help.

About 6 weeks ago my husband started getting bites around his ankles but we didn't attribute it to fleas as the cats seemed fine. However as the week passed he continued to be bitten and so I Front Lined the cats. Things however have spiralled out of control over the last month and we just don't kno...

Re: Cats and babies - please help.

Thanks Jack, Ruby was at the Vets about 10 days ago for her cystitis and very recently finished her course of Metacam. About an hour ago she walked into the kitchen where my husband's cricket bag was on the floor with all his kit in it, and she walked over, got in the bag, had a massive wee and then...

Cats and babies - please help.

To cut a long story short I have two cats (sisters) who I've had since they were kittens, they are now 3years old, and one of them has taken the birth of my baby very badly. My son is currently 4.5 months old and the cats behaviour is getting worse and worse. I know it's stress related so it isn't h...

Re: Need help with Metacam dose.

Well I took her back to the vets today to have her reviewed and was given another bottle of Metacam. Ruby is now 5.8kg - the vet didn't look best pleased. I honestly have no idea why she keeps growing! I was told to give her the 6kg dose for 2 days and then reduce to the 5.8kg dose. So that's anothe...

Re: Thinking of re-homing - I can't do this anymore.

Thanks Janey. It's breaking my heart. When I see them around the house I just burst with love for them, I know it's not their fault, I can't bear the thought of re-homing them (it makes me want to cry) but I just don't know what else to do. I hate to think of them being unhappy. They really aren't t...

Re: Thinking of re-homing - I can't do this anymore.

Yes they both have outside access via a microchip cat flap. I will be so sad to see them go. My biggest fear though is that they won't be re homed together because they love each other so much. I just feel so upset about it all. They spend most of their time hiding under the bed and one of them has ...

Re: Thinking of re-homing - I can't do this anymore.

Thanks Jacks - I do feel really upset. One of my cats is showing signs of cystitis again this morning. Their behaviour is just so erratic - they even pulled wallpaper off one our walls a few days ago. Surely it's not fair to them to keep them in a home they aren't happy in? :( As baby is getting old...

Re: Need help with Metacam dose.

And how many tomes a day do they have it?

I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow but I want to try and get some antibiotics into her in the meantime.

Need help with Metacam dose.

Morning all, I'm pretty sure my cat has cystitis again and so I have bought out a bottle of Metacam we kept in the cupboard from when she last had it. However, I cannot remember exactly how much to give her as it isn't specified on the instructions. We have the 0.5mg/ml suspension and have the syrin...

Thinking of re-homing - I can't do this anymore.

I have got two cats who I love. They are 3 years old and I have had them since they were kittens. The problem I'm having is that after having my baby they won't stop urinating around the house. Every room smells of cat urine. They urinate on the carpet, in the bath, on my husband's clothes, in his c...

Black and white cat. LE10 0BW

My black and white cat, answers to the name Brian has been missing for 3 days. I'm very worried as he never really leaves the house or garden. I'm even more worried as there has been recent incidents of cats being shot with air rifles in my area :( He wears a blue collar that has little white stars ...
