Re: spraying/peeing on wall
+1 Everything the people above said, but I'd also suggest that if you can't get your hands on a high-sided litter box quickly, you can just go to an office supplies store (or something of that ilk) to pick up a tall plastic box as a substitute. Something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Really-Us...

Re: Advice for adopting 8-week-old kitten?
You too, how is the injection lump now? You're bringing this kitten into a multi-cat home aren't you? I don't think you have anything to worry about as long as the residents are kind and support you in its education. At 8 weeks your kitten is still wired for learning and will be for some months mor...

Re: Advice for adopting 8-week-old kitten?
I'm old enough to remember when kittens were rehomed at 6 weeks, barely weaned. Less time with mum has disadvantages and advantages, if you give them plenty of time and take the place of mum in teaching them about dangers and good behaviour in the first few weeks, you are likely to have a strongly ...

Re: Advice for adopting 8-week-old kitten?
Hi as you've taken kittens at twelve weeks before there really is no difference in caring for an 8 week old your kitten will be eating drinking using litter box just keep food to what it's used to and make any changes in diet slowly regular small meals and plenty of cuddles and playtime they're a l...

Advice for adopting 8-week-old kitten?
Good day, all. Someone is trying to find homes for a feral cat and kittens they've been feeding because they can't continue looking after them for much longer. The mother already has a taker, but the kittens aren't going with her. They asked if I want one of the kittens and I don't mind helping out....

Re: Adult cat bad toilet behaviour
Lol, I have one of those as well, so I understand. In case you don't have one in your study yet, by the way, you may also consider setting up a litter box in there. And then, if that doesn't work, I think I would also try using a significantly different litter in 1-2 test litter boxes, to see if he'...

Re: Adult cat bad toilet behaviour
I believe so -- I have one that develops curious attacks of stress-induced gastritis whenever we're apart for more than 20 or so hours. Hence, this cat has now been grafted semi-permanently to my shoulder and lap. That being said, I have to admit I've never had a cat that acted as you described. Sti...

Re: Adult cat bad toilet behaviour
Quite a pickle, particularly if you've truly eliminated all of the possibilities. Is there a chance that there's something "just beyond your gaze", so to speak? I have a friend whose adult cat suddenly began urinating outside of the litterbox for no apparent reason either... until they dis...

Re: Still can’t find food cat will eat!
Goodness, vent away! I can only imagine how exhausted you are. Will she absolutely refuse all food for an entire day or (and pardon me if this is a stupid question) will she deign to touch food she's refused before once she gets hungry enough and your eyes aren't on her? Because I have one cat who p...

Re: Getting Broadline onto the hide vs. the fur
Find it much easier with two people one to hold the cat while the other parts some fur and can keep it parted to apply the spot on sometimes we put it on two separate spots to avoid so much on fur which seems to be wasted but it can take a fair bit of fiddling around to get a good patch of skin exp...

Re: Getting Broadline onto the hide vs. the fur
Not a bad idea -- I'm not sure if it will work on her undercoat, but I'll try to get one of those nonetheless. Thank you for the tip, Kay!

Getting Broadline onto the hide vs. the fur
This is a question for those with cats who have very dense coats and undercoats. Do any of you have tips for ensuring Broadline gets on the hide instead of the fur? The cat in question is small (2.6kg) and a Russian Blue. Even among my Russian Blues, her undercoat is a little... ridiculous, lol. Whe...

Re: Pilling cats - desperate for help!
I understand the frustration. My cat is on steroids right now too, you see, and foams from them as well. As I said, the cheese wrapping prevents direct contact with the pill for her. I made a mistake once and dropped it towards the middle of the tongue and she "chewed" it, but the cheese w...

Re: Ever had a near-invisible but palpable lump on cat post-injection?
Pardon me, I should have stated it! It was her vaccination for rabies. Yes, the lump is on the injection site, roughly around the point where a cat's latissimus dorsi approaches what I believe is their lumbar fascia. [I may be mistaken: I'm no vet  ] And thank you for sharing that, ArgyllCat. ...

Re: Pilling cats - desperate for help!
If the foaming is the primary issue (and it sounds like it is), I believe that's what needs to be addressed first. Because as long as you get the pill far back down her throat and hold her head up with her mouth closed (using the stroke-her-throat-until-she-swallows technique), there's a fair chance...

Going through this too, although mine has now been there for about 3 months! Is your kitty's lump visible? Would it be possible to see a photo of it, perhaps?

Ever had a near-invisible but palpable lump on cat post-injection?
Hello everyone, I'm a new member. I'm posting because I'd like to know if anyone else here has had a cat develop a nearly invisible but palpable lump on their flank following an injection. I mean it when I say it's nearly invisible. I have to angle a light and use the shadow on her (already-shaved) ...

Re: Lump after vaccination
One of my cats had her annual vaccinations on the 5th (12 days ago) and I noticed a lump under her fur around the vaccination site last night. Obviously I'm worried about fibrosarcomas, but realise that it could be a vaccination lump. Do you think it's worth getting her checked out at the vets, or ...
