Re: Dieting Options

A worry about a thyroid, or similar type problem, was the original reason I actually took him to the vet. At that point, I had the chipped feeders, and was going to make up my own regime. They, both vets, have dismissed any other issues other than calorific intake, versus exercise taken. I should ma...

Re: Dieting Options

I'm quite stunned that the vet would only say 50g of dry food given his weight- I know they say to feed for the target weight, but not if the target weight is more than 10% reduction, so I'd be concerned about too rapid a weight loss, which can lead to liver issues. Could you increase his play sess...

Re: Dieting Options

Hello again, glad the chip feeders have made a good start for you. I had a fat cat that gets anxious and aggressive if I restrict her food at all. You can get reduced calorie food that does all that for you, bulk and nutritionally balanced without the calories. The one we used was Hills, dry and we...

Dieting Options

Hi, My second post. First time around, I got a brilliant suggestion to help with an obese cat, which was chipped feeders. I have three cats, and now have 3 chipped feeders. The one boy, eating everybody else grub, was the problem. Two girls, and one boy, who is younger, and much more intelligent, wh...

Re: Struggling with cats soiling outside litter tray

It sounds like you are making bits of progress, the different litter bieng one. I had/ have a similar problem, but have no specific things I'm going to suggest, but thought telling you what I have tried, and what have ended up with, might give you an idea or two. I have three cats. Two were living h...

Re: Food obsessed

Thank you for your thoughts, but all of those are things I've already tried with the wee fella, without success. The chip feeders I think will literally be a life-saver for him.

Re: Food obsessed

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am investigating the chip feeders as I write and they look like I'll be able have an arrangement that'll ration as they need. I have also made an appointment for him to have his bloods checked and see if there's anything else going on. So much appreci...

Food obsessed

Hi fellow cat lovers, I have 3 cats, 2 girls now about 10, and a boy, who is 7. The boy, having been healthy and happy at all times, has, in the past 2-3 years, become completely obsessed with food. He has gained a huge amount of weight which is obviously a worry for his health. The cats are not fre...
