Re: Help With Ruby
Thanks, I would try the lead thing but the reason we rescued her is because a little girl tried to hang her on several occasions and strangle her on another so she is VERY wary about having anything around her, even her own tail lol

Some of you may remember that a month or two ago we rescued a beautiful 5 year old called Ruby and she has come out of her shell so much its unbelieveable. She is no longer constantly hiding she loves being around u...

Such a chatterbox!!
Hi Guys, First I want to say thanks to all the advice you guys gave a couple of weeks ago, Ruby has been with us two weeks now and had really come out of her shell, she still isn't 100% sure of the living room but explores or should I say "thinks she owns" the rest of the place. She really...

Re: Doing the right thing?
She's doing really well considering. This morning while I was getting dressed she followed me into the living room and had a look around, again spotting the Rabbit in the corner and running out, but then came right back in, got close to the cage and had a good look. She didn't stick around but is de...

Re: another bit of advice please
I'm also glad I've found this forum, and this thread in fact.
When Ruby is a little more adventurous I may have to invest in one of these, I think she'd quite like it.

Re: Shelly update
That's awful, sometime I wonder why we bother with Insurance for anything. Although that does remind me I need to invest in my new little friend. I would still take a look at the website I suggested, it doesn't have to be a "money for nothing" deal if you don't want to ask for hand outs, y...

Re: Shelly update
Although I don't have much previous with cats my parents have always had cats and I've had dogs. When it comes down to tests and stuff personally I always go the full whack, even if it does mean living off beans on toast for a while. That's due to a particular experience where 2 separate vets told u...

Re: Shelly update
Hi Diana, hopefully this isn't against house rules, but there is a website called 'GoFundMe' where people in situations like yours can try and raise the extra money to cover expenses. People go on there for everything from Holidays and Weddings to Illness and tragedies. No one likes asking for a han...

Re: Doing the right thing?
Thanks to everyone for their comments. Because yesterday she still wouldn't cross the living room I have placed a small bowl of food for her else where, I guess once she is fully comfortable with the place it won't matter where we put it she'll soon find it. When we were sat watching TV last night s...

Re: Doing the right thing?
Hey, thanks for the warm welcomes and advice.
I will definitely be sticking to the forum, even if its just to read up on everyone's advice and tips.
I've added a picture of Ruby.
Thanks for everything so far guys!

Re: Doing the right thing?
Hi :) Thanks for responding. Yes it has only been since Sunday that she's been with us, it does seem that she has made amazing progress however I think its going to take a long time for her to bring her confidence right back up again, poor thing. Our friend really didn't want to get rid of her but i...

Doing the right thing?
Hello everyone, I apologise in advance, this is a bit of an essay but I really want to get this all right.... My names Simon and myself and my partner have just adopted a beautiful 5 year old half Ragdoll called Ruby and would just like some advice / reassurance that what we are doing is right. Firs...
