Advocate - not eating/behaviour changes

Hi All, I'll keep this short, Smokey has gone onto spot on Advocate due to having fleas (after the vets saying he didn't have them)... he had it last night and today he hasn't eaten a thing, which isn't like him at all. He is also hiding behind furniture. I know advocate is stronger but is this a co...

Re: Bad reaction to Advocate ?

Hi,

I wanted to know if your cat is okay? We have just given our cat advocate as he caught fleas (long story even though the vet said he hadn't).

Anywho, he is really lethargic and not eating his food, is this normal? Also hiding a lot :(

Thank you

Cat cleans OTT... giving himself sores

Hi All, It's been a while since I needed to post. We have had our cat since December and all going well. Although he has started cleaning himself excessively within the last two months and I checked over his skin this evening and he is giving himself sores from it. He also itches and cuts his chin. ...

Cats pick up on our stress/emotions?

Can cats pick up on our stress and emotions? In relation to my other post on our cats eating habits changing after being castrated... There is a lot of family stress/emotions as we are losing our grandmother, grandfather is in hospital and another grandmother had a stroke. Plus other things so there...

Re: Castrated Thursday - reduced eating on Saturday?

Ah if you remember who or why please do let me know.
Everything else is fine with him... just really odd. He still comes running down when we put out fresh food, rubs up behind us and meows for it. Takes two mouthfuls then walks away :?:

Castrated Thursday - reduced eating on Saturday?

Hi All, Been a while since I've posted on here. Our smokey got the snip on Thursday, and he came round pretty quickly afterwards, was eating & drinking fine with his cone collar. On Saturday, we were out most of the day as we've had some sad family news... he was on his own about 8hrs. Didn't re...

Cat cold 🥶

Hi all, Hope you all had a lovely New year and Christmas break. Hope all pets are settling in well. Our smokey is really part of the family now but unfortunately we think he may have a cold. He keeps sneezing and also sounds very congested when purring away... he was laying on his back this morning ...

Re: 1st night used litter tray fine...3rd night...

Yeah eventually it is, how can you tell its ok to let a cat out without them running away?! We managed to put a harness on him yesterday and he ventured out there a little bit but then ran in. Putting on the harness was rather annoying for him, he wasn't too pleased at all. This morning we opened th...

Re: 1st night used litter tray fine...3rd night...

Hi all, So since my last post, he has also poo'd on the front door matt, (he was doing so well we opened up another part of the house). I managed to get in touch with the previous owner and she confirmed that he is used to doing his business outside. Our problem is, we don't want to let him out in t...

1st night used litter tray fine...3rd night...

Morning, Smokeyblue is settling in wonderfully, however yesterday morning we came down to two little pellets of poo on the back door matt (it's near his litter tray), we presumed it was because he had already gone for a wee & poo in there during the same night. However I just got up (4am, as cou...

Is Purring a good sign or bad?

Hey, You may have seen my post recently about taking on a British Blue. He is starting to settle in well ... 2nd full day in his new home. Is purring a good sign, when we pet him and/or even go near him?! I've read that they can sometimes purrrr when sad to cheer themselves up? So this has slightly ...

Re: Hiding & not eating. Normal for 2nd day in New home

:D thank you. Will try to figure out how to post photos. He has been out most of the day, sitting on dining chair under the table, but we have been out most of the day. Not eaten though...but has pood! He has let all of us pet him under the table, let me clean his eye, even started purring! Then our...

Re: Hiding & not eating. Normal for 2nd day in New home

Update: :!: Our chunky blue came out about 10mins after we went to bed (I had a night camera in the room facing his food.) He has eaten all of his wet food, drank and ate some biscuits. He didn't go back in hiding when we got up, was sitting on the dining room chairs all snug. He also let me clean h...

Re: Hiding & not eating. Normal for 2nd day in New home

Thank you! We can't wait to get to know him properly! He is only 14months old, bless him. The fact he came out and exploring within the 1st day is a good sign. When we get down to see him, he let's us tickle him slightly but he is in a hard to reach spot! Yeah he hasn't used the litter tray from wha...

Hiding & not eating. Normal for 2nd day in New home

Hi All, We are new here! Had cats before but all from kittens, this time we decided to get one which was being rehomed. We absolute love him, picked him up yesterday (2hr 30min drive), then settled him down in a safe room, as suggested online. He came out of his carrier in around 15mins but then hid...
