Nobody has experience with this?
I guess is glands.
I saw somewhere online that it could be anal glands, because the cat is scared?

Re: New adoption
For me she stopped after 5-6 days. 2nd day meowing (crying) from 7pm to 7am, every 2-5 min. Ear plugs didn’t even help The feliway, I had from the beginning. Not sure if it helped. My view is not (but maybe otherwise, she would still meow? No idea). Anyways. She doesn’t cry or meow now in the night ...

Re: Weird smell in the house
I heard there are Scent Glands on the paws. Maybe from that? Cause it seems it’s from its nails.

Weird smell in the house
Some weeks ago, I adopted a shy cat. (She’s now more or less used to us -pet and play happens often as well). Nonetheless, I realized after moving the litter from the original place, that there’s a persistent smell coming from a tree (normal natural tree -Christmas type). Any ideas of what that can ...

Re: new very shy scared cat
Ok! I consider myself a specialist :D A couple of weeks back I adopted a cat -never seen a cat so scared (and I’ve seen hundreds). 1st day she didn’t eat or poop. Stayed in a corner. Never let us touch her. Anyways, long story short, in around 10 days, the cat came to the sofa and wanted to be pet! ...

Re: Adopted a cat. Almost regretting. Meows all night. (Literally)
Update: it’s like a got a new cat.
After 10 or so days, the cat changed COMPLETELY.
I know many of you might say ‘dah’.
But it’s day and night!
No crying at night. And now sits on the sofa with us.
No steady, slow adjustment. But rapid!

Re: Adopted a cat. Almost regretting. Meows all night. (Literally)
By the way, used the ear plugs yesterday. Didn’t help much. (I am a light sleeper).
Let’s see.
For the moment I put on tv birds and other animals and she’s active at them
(Previous days she was sleepy during this time).
Hopefully that will tire her a bit and be more sleepy later

Thanks for the suggestions!
Yeah. I hope.
I can be ok with her talking time to come towards me. But that + the meowing (every 2-5 minutes for HOURS). It’s a bit too much.

Re: Adopted a cat. Almost regretting. Meows all night. (Literally)
Thanks for the reply. I’ve been looking to adopt for more than a year, but delayed because of a move and Covid. Regarding the research, I did. Even my mum has a cat, and some friends as well. Nobody had this experience. Tonight I couldn’t sleep. Meowing every 2-5’. Not sure of her background. The sh...

Adopted a cat. Almost regretting. Meows all night. (Literally)
It’s less than a week (I know, it’s early), but since adopting this very shy cat, I already feel tired. She’s castrated, and around 7 months. Previously in the shelter with other cats. Also probable she spend a good amount on the street before-that. Now in my apartment, sole. 1st night didn’t make a...
