Re: Going Outside - what age ?

She has had her vaccinations and will be getting spayed at 18 weeks, the garden is secure and even now Bronte doesn't seem to go much further than a couple of gardens either way. While I am out there with her its nice to see her play chase with the other 2 and get her confidence but she certainly wo...

Re: help please for my moms 21 year old cat . . So sad

I think many people completely underestimate the therapeutic power of all animals. I believe they are so much more finely tuned into their humans than any other human could be. It is a heart warming story and I always believe that the only way we could avoid the grief you and your family are experie...

Re: PLEASE help!

I tend to agree with whats been said that if the batting isn't too bad then they will likely as not work it out for themselves as long as no real damage being done. My first introduction i did by the book keeping them separated and increasing exposure but found i had to get through the initial intro...

Re: New cat not drinking

A really good tip I got from our friends on here is that cats don't like their water next to their food. So I put theos water well away from his food and in a glass bowl and I couldn't believe how much he drank, practically the whole bowl the first time he saw it. I still have the small bowl next t...

Going Outside - what age ?

I was just wondering what opinions were on the age of a cat before they go outdoors? My boy Archie was about 5 when he came to me so was eager to be out asap - after his GPS figured out where 'home' was of course. Bronte didn't want to go beyond the doorstep no matter what until she was about 10 mon...

licking eyes

My little girl (14 weeks) Sky is obsessed with licking my eyelids. She doesn't just do it when she happens to be close but deliberately clambers up me to get to my face.

Has anyone else experienced this and any idea what the attraction is?

I love your description of the chatter - my boy is really vocal. My particular favourite is when he is frustrated t me having a lie in he says "mm-wah-wa" - I'm convinced he's calling me a lazy so and so!!

Re: My Ragdoll x Russian Blue

Its strange Kay somehow in photos she looks more 'pointy' than in real life - particularly her face and ears ...... she's the only one of my 3 who rolls over for a tummy tickle and it isn't a trap !!! I'll be interested to see how long haired she gets - I think she'll be fluffy/semi long haired but ...

Re: My Ragdoll x Russian Blue

LOL - she could be a real crumper then ... that's ok I like a big cat ! When you look at her now proportionally she seems to have a really long body compared to my other 2 - and those ears she really needs to grow into ! I saw the collapsing carrier thread so will keep an eye out - maybe something o...

Oh not heard of provender! I picked up some drontal on the way home so will give that a go first. Archie is no problem and will swallow anything you give him - hang up from being a hungry stray I think. Bronte wriggles a but but then takes it and sky we have yet to find out! Thanks all for the advice

Re: My Ragdoll x Russian Blue

Yes I am interested to see what size she makes - I know rags can be quite big but I'm not sure on the Russian blue? Her mum was the rag doll and apparently just a regular size. I do love her colour and she has the lovely blue nose and paws. She seems very bright and is learning so quickly that after...

Re: Letting cat out for 1st time

when I got my rescue cat I was told 4 weeks to keep him totally inside - after 2.5 weeks he escaped through an upstairs window - it (stupidly) never occurred to me he would go through an upstairs window - 6 hours later he came back the same way ... and forever until he died that was his 'door' regar...

My Ragdoll x Russian Blue

I couldn't figure out how to add a further picture to my last thread to here is Sky .... now erm 13 weeks old. Fabulous mix of character - she does the floppy rag doll thing so well but is also a real little madam with a personality way too big for her size and age at the moment :)

Advocat

Hi I am new to the forum and wonder if anyone can help me with the topic of prevention of worms/fleas etc. My 3 are treated with Advocat monthly, and every 3 months we go to the vet for a 'worming tablet' - is there something I can buy over the counter that can be taken alongside the Advocat which w...
