Re: Black stuff around cat's mouth

Sorry I should have said it’s brown from her saliva licking the water off her paw.
She doesn’t always do it so the colour comes & goes.

Can anyone recommend semintra?

My sweet girl is now 19.5 years old with kidney, thyroid problems, high blood pressure & been deff for about 2 years. She’s on browned time & not keen on renal food & the vet said let her eat what she wants she’s only 2.5kg now & more important that she eats. The vet has said that se...

Re: Black stuff around cat's mouth

Just a thought my renal cat has white paws & one went a dirty brown & after lots of online looking I just couldn’t find what was wrong. The vet didn’t know straight away & he later told me it’s the iron in her saliva as she uses that paw to scoop up her water. It’s a bit like when you se...

Re: Pancreatitis advice or help needed!

Just a small thought, my renal cat has ipakitine on her normal food. she’s only 2.5kg I give a super small amount probably about 80% less than recommended for a cat of her size & I think it gives her small amount of blood in her poo. Just a thought if you were giving your cat the ipakitine as we...

Re: I AM DESPERATE, CAN’T SLEEP!!!

Hi sorry to hear about your cats nocturnal games. I have the same problem but mine is 19.5 with many issues so I’m never quite sure what’s going on with her but here some things that work for her. She eats a lot at night & can be fussy & not like - fancy any of the 3 plates of food so keeps ...

Re: Help 19.5 old screaming blue murder no reason

I took my girl to the vets last week for bloods, the vet said her thyroid is under control with her meds. She thought the behaviour was due to the problems with her kidneys, her blood pressure was a little on high as well. At 19.5 the vet said just feed her what she’s wants to eat it’s not worth try...

Re: Help 19.5 old screaming blue murder no reason

Many thanks, the last time her thyroid was checked 3 months ago the vet said it was very well managed. She has been on the meds now for about 10 months, maybe it’s worth having more blood done to see how her health is & check that. I agree about the kidney food I tried so much & she’s not ke...

My sweet 19.5 year old is deff, has kidney & thyroid problems screaming blue murder. My sweet girl has started screaming blue murder for no reason. She’s deaf now so I get that her scream will be much louder as she can’t hear herself. I come rushing to see her & she’s just sitting there look...

Re: New User - Hind legs giving way.

Hi all, just a quick read through the post & watching the video reminds me of my 19 year old having a similar fit.
Her heart was checked & in the end it was her thyroid to blame, the thyroid meds have sorted this out now.

Just thought I’d put it out there as a possible condition

Re: Best Way to Get Rid of Fleas?

Great old fashioned way to see how much of a issue fleas are & help get rid is a large plate with very thick washing up liquid & a lamp somewhere your cat won’t get to it but the fleas can. The heat & light attracts them & they drown in the thick liquid - something satisfying about s...

Re: Screams in distress before drinking water

My 19 year old screams you’d think she was being tortured I go rushing to her & she’s just looking at her water container - cut off 2lt drinks bottle - it’s her favourite one. There is a very small amount missing that can be topped up & I guess sometimes she doesn’t want to get her paw wet &...

My sweet 19 year old is deff, has kidney & thyroid problems.
She had a water infection as few weeks back & the vet recommended
Feliway cystease
it has really relaxed her & has great reviews.
£12 pets at home or about £8.60-£10.00 including postage on eBay
Good luck 🐾🐾

Re: Cat Health Excessive Meowing at night

Hi I feel for you as my deff 19 year old likes to really meow at night as well. May be like the other person has said she is deff as well. I should have known she was losing her hearing as she didn’t respond to the can of cream when we shook it 🤦🏻‍♀️ anymore. The loudness comes of course as they can...
