Re: Help! Cats Chin!

Do you use plastic food bowls? Apparently the tiny scratches made by a cat's teeth are bacteria hotspots and can be a cause of cat acne. One of my cats had a spotty chin, and after a Google, like you do, I bathed his chin with a weak hibiscrub solution a couple of times a day and although I don't us...

Re: Noooooooooooo Sticky Buds!!!!!!

Thank you everyone for your advice. We are now down to the last few. Gently teasing them out when she's sleepy seems to be the way to go. Maybe she's learnt a lesson and won't go rolling in them again......but then probably not. :D

Re: Noooooooooooo Sticky Buds!!!!!!

Ooooo Bobbys Girl I have a red glove groomer thingy somewhere, I'd forgotten about that. I'll dig it out, from what I can remember they all liked it.

Re: Noooooooooooo Sticky Buds!!!!!!

Thank you vanilla, I had a go when she was eating, clever how they can eat and growl at the same time :D did get a few though. Yes Alan I think a few at a time will be the answer. We have just had a big fuss and managed to get loads off her back and chest but thought I better stop when I felt teeth!...

Noooooooooooo Sticky Buds!!!!!!

Halo, my long haired cat has just come in absolutely covered in sticky buds and dragging about 2' of the stuff, stuck to her fluffy bum. Not only on the top of her coat but deep in, next to her skin. She's had a good old roll in them, bless her!! They are obviously bothering her, I must have picked ...

No photo, just a memory of a dreaming cat waking up and me asking what he was dreaming about - he sleepily raised a back leg..........he was obviously dreaming of lady cats!!!!!

Re: Cat body temperature

Thank you for your replies. Meriad, yes he has had a 12 panel blood test, the only thing showing was a slightly low white cell count which the vet put down to him fighting a virus, I will ask about a home visit though, that's a good idea. Crewella, do you know, are the digital thermometers the 'up t...

Cat body temperature

Zeke has been seeing the vet for weeks, his third eyelids were showing and he had a temperature. He has had endless antibiotics and a week on metacam but he still has a high temperature. When at home he feels cool, the vet said to feel his ears just to give an indication of how hot he is - we have b...

Poorly cat, does anything sound familiar?

Hi, just wondered if this sounds familiar to anyone. Zeke is poorly, just over 2 weeks ago I noticed his third eyelid was up quite a lot so off to the vets we go. He had a temperature just of over 103.2 and the vet noticed some watery poo on the thermometer (he 'goes' outside so I didn't know). He w...

Scabby Cat does this a lot, usually when relaxing, Halo also does it but never heard Zeke do it. We call it 'grumping' ☺

Hi, could he have something stuck in his nose? Or a bit of grass could have 'gone the wrong way ' I have witnessed a cat sneeze out a fairly long blade of grass!

Re: ANY TIPS ON TRAPPING A FERAL

Hello Mongoose, I have just succeed in what you are trying to do. The trap we used was approx 1mtr long with the trigger plate at the far end. We baited the trap for about 10 days without setting it to get him used to going in, I also put a catnip toy in there as well, which was a huge hit! We had a...

Re: Possible stray?

The 'other' cat was caught in the trap last night and went off to the vets today. He is now back, well most of him is! and outside after eating 2 pouches. We will persevere with trying to get the first one.

Re: HOW CAN I TEACH BARNEY TO TOILET OUTDOORS ?!!

Hi, when ours were first let out they would come back in to use the litter tray but eventually they started to use our garden, then beyond. Now I wish they would use the litter trays, even occasionally, so I know all is working as it should! Mine are in at night too. Their curfew time is when they h...

Re: Possible stray?

Hi KittyWitty, that is the million dollar question isn't it. At the moment we are both working albeit part time so technically could afford to take on another cat (already got 2) but if OH's job finishes then we would be in trouble. My master plan is to TNR but still feed if he comes looking and all...

Re: Possible stray? - Update.

I managed to put a paper collar on him but with no response. I have been in touch with a very nice kind lady from a local rescue and now have a cat trap in the greenhouse and a tentative appointment at the vets for Thursday 17th.

Re: Possible stray?

Hi Jacks, thank you for your reply I will carry on trying to win his trust with the hope of getting a paper collar on him unless any more injuries become apparent (big cat fight a few gardens away this afternoon). If this occurs I'll try CP or maybe a local rescue might TNR? (Nottingham) Although he...

Possible stray?

There has been a visitor to our garden for a while. When we first noticed him he had a nasty burst abcess on his head, the gunk was there for ages, we were obviously concerned for him but we couldn't even get close. ( picture me creeping up the garden path doing the 'blink', he blinked back but woul...

Re: New kittens - how far in the car?

My two came from the same rescue but about a year apart. The first one, Halo wailed all the way home along with projectile vomiting and similar from the other end. The second, Zeke slept all the way. So I guess you never can tell, some travel better than others. Good luck!
